Celtics and Cavs (Love for Hayward)

Celtics get- Kevin Love, Matthew Dellavedova, and Ante Zizic (depending on whether they liked him or not before previously trading him to Cleveland in the first place).

Cavs get- Gordon Hayward, Marcus Smart
(or in place of Smart there are a lot of young players like Langford, Edwards, Grant Williams, Ojeleye, and picks that can possibly make something work).

The only reason I added Smart was the idea of him fitting in well and helping Garland and Sexton, but Smart and his cap friendly contract might be too valuable to pry away from the Celtics in this deal. But then again to take on the rest of Gordon Hayward's contract would have to come with some good incentives for a rebuilding team like Cleveland to want to take on.

Smart is the heart and soul of the Celtics. he is not being traded. Hayward won't be traded either.

Crazy 3 Way

Wolves get: Tyson Chandler, Fultz, Josh Jackson, Saric, and Korkman.

Sixers get: Butler, Daniels, Bridges, and Holmes.

Suns get: Teague, Dieng, Covington, and Patton.

Sixers lineup would easily compete for the East and have more overall depth now despite losing some pieces.

Wolves might be getting too much back in return, but both the other teams come out on top as well, so it would have to come down to whether the Suns are completely sold on Josh Jackson or not, but otherwise they're not giving up anyone valuable other than Bridges, and getting a decent return with Covington's long but money friendly contract for a somewhat coveted player (pun intended).

Simmons/McConnell/Bayless
Redick/Smith/Daniels
Butler/Chandler/Bridges
Muscala/Holmes
Embiid/Amir Johnson/

Phoenix and philly give up too much.

3.) 27 Sep 2018 08:55:06
Why would phoenix do this?

It's a steep price for philly to, so i think they turn this down. They get the best player, but he 29 years old and a free agent next year.

4.) 27 Sep 2018 14:58:42
There would have to be some sort of wink wink situation on an extension for Philly to want to do this. I think that would give them a great team this season, but would be an overall downgrade if Butler decides to leave. With LeBron out of the East, now is the time for them and the Bucks to strike. Boston isn't going to be going anywhere for quite a while, so they aren't able to play the wait it out game.

I love this for the Wolves too. This puts them right in the thick of things with some real depth. Right now it's Towns, and a questionable Wiggins as the future, but adding Fultz and Jackson (still question marks themselves) along with solid depth players in Korkmaz and Saric and you have the makings of a team who could really compete in the West. If all of them hit to their potential, it's a very scary team. Add in Chandler who can not only be a mentor to Towns, but can also give good minutes at the 5 to slide him over to the 4 for spells.

Phoenix would really have to be over Jackson at this point to do it, but they shed a salary and get two good pieces back in Teague and Covington with some potential in Patton. Dieng makes it tough.

I think the Suns need to get back at least a first rounder for this to make it worthwhile, probably from Minnesota and probably more than just that, but overall, this makes sense for everyone.

@sos i was with u until the “makes sense for everyone part”.

Oh it's not that bad donadamsky, certainly not perfect, and I'm one of those who doesn't like to propose 3 team mega deals as they are just not very likely to happen. I agree that Philly or Phoenix would not likely go along with this, but it's not 'too' far off.

7.) 28 Sep 2018 15:42:55
I agree with wswswsws and donadamsky.
This trade helps each of the teams, BUT it would be a hard “pill” to swallow. Philly gives up very important pieces to they’re future and Phx has to decide on Jackson or Covington&Teague. (hard choice)
Philly would go “all in” if Butler commits to an extension and you may be right Soxfan, the first round pick would get it done. good trade.

Heat get: Butler, Teague, and Dieng

Wolves get: Dragic, Olynyk, and Richardson.

Since these 3 teams are talking, might as well put post an unlikely scenario that works in the trade machine. Probably too many pieces moving around, but it still works, though a draft pick might need to be added to the Wolves haul in this particular one, likely a 2nd rounder from the Suns (which would be in the 30's if it were a 2019 pick).

Wolves get: Olynyk, Richardson, Warren, and Bender (and perhaps that 2019 2nd rounder from Phoenix and/or Elie Okobo)

Heat get: Butler, Dieng, and Troy Daniels

Suns get: Teague, and James Johnson

Wolves only trade Teague if they receive a PG in a butler trade that they want to keep over teague. Who's running the point in Minnesota? Jones?

2.) 27 Sep 2018 04:50:39
Yeah Jones and Rose, assuming that they will concede competing this season. Otherwise this trade is unlikely, but not too far off.

Portland get: Butler, Dieng, and Patton.

Wolves get: McCollum, Aminu, and Collins.

Portland has other players too that can make a deal feasible, and perhaps Gibson might want to go with Butler, and if that were the case and a deal could be made for Butler, Dieng, and Gibson, then Portland could possibly unload Turner if they are willing to give up other young players.

Blazers get: Butler, Dieng, and Gibson.

Wolves get: McCollum, Turner, Collins, and Swanigan.

1.) 26 Sep 2018 14:31:49
Everyone has done great trading Dieng alongside butler in proposals on here. Until now. This is overvaluing butler and Dieng and undervaluing all of the blazers players.

2.) 26 Sep 2018 15:51:39
Portland would definitely want to do the second over the first.

From everything I've heard, Collins is likely untouchable. Olshey is enamored with him. Even if Collins wasn't untouchable, I think Collins and McCollum is too much for Butler. McCollum for Butler straight up is fair value to me considering contracts, no need to throw in Portland's best prospect too.

In the second deal, I could see swapping Collins for Simons or a first since Portland would be unloading a terrible contract too (though they'd be taking back an equally bad one) .

3.) 26 Sep 2018 19:56:12
In this particular situation that seems to have varying levels of complication regarding butlers wish list and expiring contract, I think cj for butler straight across is more than fair. Maybe add trent or simons if butler is committed to staying for a couple seasons at least.

4.) 27 Sep 2018 00:11:28
I like the 2nd trade, and perhaps Collins can't be dealt (perhaps Meyers Leonard can be substituted in place of him or Swanigan), but even they did they would be somewhat in contention this season, or at least be a lock to make the playoffs in a competitive Western Conference. The main reason for this deal though is for the Blazer to be able to make sure Lillard stays, and if they were to have a good season it's very possible that they can convince Butler to stay as well. Their lineup for the upcoming season with this 2nd trade would be good and solidify more depth up front (which they need at this point) .

Lillard/ Curry/ Baldwin
Butler/ Stauskas/ Trent/ Simons
Harkless/ Layman
Gibson/ Leonard or Swanigan
Nurkic/ Dieng

Teague/ Jones/ Rose
McCollum/ Okogie
Wiggins/ Deng
Aminu/ Tolliver/ Swanigan or Leonard
Towns/ Collins/ Patton.

Once again. Hahahahahahhaha.

Celtics at this point should trade for either Love, Monroe, or Okafor. Monroe or Okafor would be easy to obtain without having to give up too much, which seems to always be the trend to Boston not getting any deals done, but at this point they need to do something, and their bigs should be a priority over the small forward spot which they have Crowder who has a good contract as well as 2 young potential stars developing and still able to contribute. Plus there's still the trade deadline where they can still add to the team at that time based on how the season goes up til then.
