I like the Okafor for Russell trade, but Philly fans say always no.
Maybe if LA give also L Nance jr.

I think if LA would do a Russell for Okafor deal then Colangelo would have already pulled the trigger on it.

Lakers pass.

Never ever! DLO is better than Okafor

There`s no deal with the 76ers that would make sense for LAL

Maybe Lou Will and Nick Young for a 2nd rounder.

Mat-
Russell has nothing to show that he's better than Okafor. I think it's still a wait and see situation.

The Lakers picked #2 this year, so to say that there isn't potential for a deal is also incorrect.

Lastly, no one wants Nick young.

Agree with Simmons to a point. Russell hasn't shown on any consistent basis. But in the long term he has a much more comprehensive skill set than Oak. I feel like oak is who he is. He won't ever be better than passable defensively ( and that remains to be seen) he still needs to add at least a midrange game to help space ( especially playing with Ben Simmons), but he can go for 20 and ten every night. With Russell the skill set to be great Is there. the question as to if he ever puts it together has yet to be answered.
It'll be an interesting question to revisit in 5 years.

Yeah, i'm with winston.

As far as overall output, I'd actually lean towards Russell because he was at BEST 2nd fiddle to Kobe, picked it up in the second half and played the entire year.

If the lakers offered russell straight up for okafor, the sixers would jump on it.

As winston said, Russell appears to have a much higher ceiling than Okafor. I know sixers fans are going to jump on this. I am not saying russell is far and away better, but after 1 year, if I had to pick one player i'd prefer. it would be russell strictly on overall skill set and potential.

Sixers would do both I think.

Lakers get robbed

Only way any of these young guys gets traded is if it's for a legitimate superstar (i. e. P George or R Westbrook) .

If Lakers were foolish enough to trade for Okafor, they would have done it by now.

The Lakers would traded for okafor before signing mozgov.

Wait DLo and Randel for a C when we already signed one and a trash PG whos bounced around the league?

I wasn't trying to downgrade Russell. I'm just saying there's almost no body of work to go off of to say he's better. He had trouble getting time last year, and there were games were Kobe dominated the ball. I'm just saying thay the blanket statement that Russell is better/ has more potential isn't based off of anything beside opinion, and the recent thought process that big guys aren't needed in the league anymore and or not as valuable as guards.

Simmons or bust.

Your points on Russel are completely valid. He hasn't done a thing. Not completely his fault with that Kobe team but got to give him time.

Agreed Scott was just as good with the Lakers as the multiple other jobs he was fired from. I hate the constant musical chairs of coaches in the nba, nfl etc.
