Nuggets send: Michael Porter Jr., Malik Beasley, Paul Millsap, and the Nugget’s 2020 and 2022 unprotected first round pick.

Raptors send: Pascal Siakam, and Kyle Lowry.

The Nuggets cash in on their young prospects with upside to address their biggest need, they get a 4 who can guard big wings and is extremely switchable on the perimeter. He also compliments Jokic really well as a lean springier guy who can help block shots. He’s young, cheap, and the type of player who may be the most valuable in the NBA. They also get Kyle Lowry as a guy who brings experience, and all the skills that let him thrive in an offball situation, defense, shooting and passing, plus he’s an expiring so if it doesn’t work out he’s gone and you don't have to worry about some age stuff. This create a pretty sexy small-ish line up of
1. Lowry
2. Jamal Murray
3. Gary Harris
4. Pascal Siakam
5. Jokic
That matches up a lot better with a modern team like the Clippers imo.

The Raptors do a true blow up following Kawai’s departure. Why you cash in on Pascal now is 2 fold:
1. Him not being a lead scoring threat means that he’s not really a guy go center a rebuild around but Pascal and the rest of the team probably are too good to get that scorer in the draft.
2. If this is a true long term rebuild, Siakam is already 25, which while it isn’t young, if this is a 4 year rebuild Siakam will substantially lose his value by the time the window comes back open. Instead you get the crazy high upside of two 20 years olds in MPJ (who needs to be on ball and probably needs a year of learning on ball and sucking) and Beasley who’s incredibly young and athletic enough where he could become more than a 3&D guy. The Raptors are going to suck w/ o Lowry, Pascal, and Kawai, and the Raps get an extra first next year which probably won’t be worth very much but they also get an unprotected pick in the vaunted double draft of 2022, which is an amazing asset. Moving forward there is a real chance the Raptors would be set on the wing at
2. Beasley
3. OG
4. Porter jr.

And the mission in the draft with their own picks and the Raptors picks is to find a young PG and C.

Denver just traded their 2020 pick to OKC for J. Grant. Moves Gallinari into the starting 4 spot.

@Fredman In my defense I posted this before that went public. I’ll count this as a win, clearly Denver agreed about the kind of guy they needed in the 4 spot since Grant and Pascal are the same “type” of player.

Grant is not pascal of offense or playmaking.

They got the same "type" for much less of a price paid. That in itself is a win.

Can’t Grant play the 3? He is 6’9” and 220.if he can guard four positions then he can play the 3 with Milsap. am I missing something there?

terrible trade for Raptors if they aren't willing to trade siakim for PG13 then won't trade him for this.

@Shiller well yeah, hence the price difference but they are both weakside shot blockers who are mobile enough to hang outside.
