If warriors don't see Thompson back 2019-20, Russell at sg is not as effective as he is at PG. This idea clears Greene for max money.

Warriors get Randle Barrett Smithjr Knox ny 20 22 24 26 dal 21 23 (6 1st)

Knicks get Curry Robinson Burks

Russell/Smithjr/Poole
Thompson/Barrett/McKenie
Green/Knox/Evans
Randle/Looney/Paschall
Stein/Spellman/Smailagic

Curry/Payton/Ntilikina
Ellington/Burks/Dotson
Bullock/Robinson/Wilkes
Portis/Morris/Brazdeikas
Robinson/Gibson/Gortat-fa

It'a a package that is probably enough value, I just don't see GS giving up on this group. They still have the most top end talent in the NBA, if Klay comes back healthy in February/ March, I'd give them as good of a chance to win it all as anyone. You don't just break that up.

Bmiller for 1 thompson isn't coming back next season. And even if he did yur 3 best players are guards. Draymond is one of the most overrated players in the league. Only reason he made all star teams is because the warriors were one of the top teams in the west. Warriors won't make the playoffs, and I wouldn't be shocked if they finish bottom 10 in the league.

ACL is generally 6-8 months, meaning he should be back before March. I'd be shocked if he missed all of next season. And Klay is 6'7, he's perfectly fine playing SF.

Draymond is probably the most versatile defender in the NBA. He's a GREAT passer. He's a pretty good rebounder. He's basically the bigger version of Rondo. As a #1 option, he's terrible. But I'd make the argument that he is the PERFECT NBA role player.

Russell lead a team of misfits to the playoffs (granted in the east, but still) . Add him to two future hall of famers (then a third when Klay comes back) makes them a bottom 10 team in the NBA? That's satire right?

Curry/ Thompson/ Green won a championship! But now that they're absolute peak age, they're bottom feeders?

At the end of the day, you don't break up a team that could win a championship. And GS could do that for the next few years. They're not head and shoulders above everyone else any more, but they're right at the top when fully healthy.

Minor correction BMiller. Curry/ Thompson/ Green (AND A DEEP BENCH) won a championship. They don't have that bench at the moment.

Did Iggy and Livingston really drive those championship teams to the point that they’re now a lottery team?

When GS with a deep bench was pushing for their first title, was the Western Conference this deep?

the lack of bench, as well at the depth of the West, is one of several factors that will make it harder for the warriors to make the playoffs.

Is it possible that they miss the playoffs? Yes. And if they were to miss the playoffs, this appears to be the season that it happens.

Also, remeber that GS ended up only 18 games ahead of the 9th seed last year. So does losing Durant, Thompson (for around 60 games), Livingston, Iggy, Cook, and a few games with Cousins while the only significant addition being Russell equal less than 18 more losses in a deeper Western Confetence? Opinions will vary.

Even if they miss the playoffs this year, they’re set the following year to compete.

And yes, I think the west has been this deep for quite a while. The Spurs were great then. The Grizz were really good. Portland was about the same as now. OKC had their big 3.
