I'd like to see Okc grab a scorer to go with SGA in the backcourt. They have the assets for Beal, but why not go for Booker who's under contract for 5 years?

Is there a way to fill out a deal that looks like this?

Okc gets Booker

Washington gets Schröder, Ferguson, Diallo, picks

Phoenix gets Beal

Okc gets a nice fit next to SGA, Washington cashes in a bit on Beal instead of losing him for nothing, and Phoenix guns for a playoff spot with a nice young lineup (Rubio, Beal, Oubre, Saric, Ayton).

Washington is getting screwed.

Short on salary going from OKC to Washington. About $9 mil.

Unless OKC is using their $10 mil trade exception and going $14 mil over the luxury tax for a non-championship contending team. That would be a $30 mil luxury tax bill at the end of the year.

Washington will want the 2 Miami picks plus 2 other 1st. And OKC runs the risk of being competitive enough to loose their 2020 and 2024 picks.

Doesnt seem smart for OKC to do.

Booker is younger and better than Beal. doesn't make since for phoenix to trade their franchise player.

Not better. Beal 2 All-Stars, Booker 0 All-stars.

Put Booker in the east and he's an all star the last 3 seasons. West was loaded with guards. Bookers #s were better than walkers, and Walker made nba first team.

In all fairness, ones in the east, where it’s much easier to be an all star. But still, i'd take Beal slightly over Booker.

We’ve seen Beal perform on good teams and in the playoffs, he’s a more efficient player, he’d have more allstar appearances if he would have been healthier his first couple years, and he’s a significantly better defender.

Booker is an allstar caliber player and would clearly be an asset to any good team, but it’s hard to tell really how good he is until he gets on a good team. Plus there would be a big learning curve for him in his first year with a good team.

I feel like Beal is the safer of the two and imo the player you’d want if your team is ready to win now. That said, Booker could be a top 10 player in this league in a few years. He’s good and could just continue to get better.

I’d be comfortable with Beal as 2nd option on a championship team not so much Booker. Just my view.

Rkenne how is beal more efficient? Booker has a better fg% beal has a slightly better 3% and Booker has a better ft%. Plus Bookers #s are better and he's 3 years younger. Bookers also locked up long term while beal is due for a new contract. To me it's not even close value wise. Bookers biggest knock is he's been on bad team, but anyone who's played any sport know that it's harder to put up #s with no other talent around because you end up double and triple teamed. The fact that he's still more efficient then most should show just how good he will be.

That 4.1 versus 2.7 turnover rate does not help Booker's efficiency. As for shooting last season, Beal's eFG% is .540 while Booker's is .521. Lastly, Beal has played 82 games the last 2 seasons while Booker has played 54 and 64 games. And I will only say that the defense numbers between these 2 are not even close. IMO, Beal is a tier above Booker.
