Thunder trade Steven Adams and Danilo Gallinari to the Hornets

for Cody Zeller and Nicolas Batum.

Thunder Save $8 Million

Both Team are in the Plus +1 in the NBA Trade Machine.

I like the money savings but those two from the thunder are positive 3+ pipm vs the hornets are a negative pipm grouping. So ordinarily I’d suggest adding picks to balance the talent but Charlotte is not a team to give up picks. So I don’t know how this gets done.

The saving 8 mil is a little deceptive because Batum won’t turn down his player option and Zeller makes 15 mil in that 2nd year, which after you subtract that 8 mil from, the Thunder are really paying 7 mil more than if they kept their own 2 players.

Add on to that those players are definite downgrades in this swap, i believe this trade is highly unlikely.
