The Timberwolves get Danilo Gallinari & Hamidou Diallo

The Thunder get Andrew Wiggins, 2 future 1st round picks (with protection on one of them)

Doubt OKC is willing to go back over the luxury cap.

I don’t hate it, but I think it’s unlikely.

We can debate the return that a team would get for taking on Wiggins, but I imagine he would go to a team that is looking to win-later, and trading Gallo is clearly a win-later move.

As for MIN, I suspect this isn’t their direction. Even adding Gallo, the off-season moves would make the team worse than last year, by replacing all their vets (Taj Gibson, Derrick Rose, Bayless, Deng, Tyus and Saric) with younger, unproven talent. Even if Covington stayed healthy, MIN would be chasing the 8th seed.

Also, while turning Wiggins into cap space next year is a positive move for payroll, it’s more likely a team like MIN finds talent with the two draft picks than in free agency. I don’t know if Rosas agrees, after this last summer.

I’m not sure that Okc would even do CP3 for Wiggins, much less give up 2 draft picks just to add his salary right next to CP3’s.

I guess it would be different if he was a proven piece that would get them through the 2nd Rnd of the playoffs.
But if he was that, then other teams would be out there trying to trade for him, which is far from the case.
