Vuc isn’t even close to worth the #1 pick.

And Gordon and Fultz aren’t worth the #5 pick.

This is going to prove to be a historically poor draft at the top. The last thing Phoenix and GS want are unproven rookies who can’t immediately contribute to wins. I typically would agree that those picks are more valuable than those particular players, but with this particular draft and the circumstances those teams face at the moment, I don’t find the certainty of the return that bad in this trade. The salary cap part doesn’t work at all, but I think GS would certainly consider an All-Star center in his prime for this years number 1. Phoenix isn’t getting anything guaranteed with their pick, so Gordon’s versatility and Fultz’s potential would fit great around Ayton and Booker. But again, the cap element makes it a complete impossibility.

The last thing Phoenix should want is a catastrophic bust and a nice role player instead of a 25% shot at an all star.

I don’t hate the idea of it for GS. I just don’t like it. Obviously you have to include Wiggins to make money work, which brings the value a bit closer since he has negative value. But it’s not like Vuc is a superstar. He’s a bottom tier all star. He has about the same impact on the game as Nurkic or Adams. He’s just the focal point of the team, so he shines more. And I wouldn’t give up a top 5 pick for Nurkic either.
