Simmons and Horford

For

Kemba and Hayward

Yes I'm a Celtics fan who thinks it's best to sell high on Kemba. I like him and I'm glad they were able to get him when it appeared they'd get nobody to replace Kyrie. He's a little guy who doesn't fit Boston's switching defensive style. He's also a little guy who completely relies on quickness, and with his knee acting up recently, his contract could become a real bad one in a hurry.

Why would they trade for a guy like Simmons who can't shoot from the outside, for a team who's offense is predicated on shooting 3's?
Bad deal.
Aside from that, Hayward would have to opt in and want to go to Philly.

I like that trade.

Most people on this forum don't like Simmons, but i think the Celtics should include a draft pick to convince Philly doing this trade.

Gasupo. how do you like this trade if Simmond can't shoot from outside? How exactly does he help the Celtics, who preach outside shooting?
Answer
. he doesn't help.

Its not that we don't like Simmons; its that Simmons is limited. And limited players have less value. If Simmons could shoot from outside the key (let alone the 3 point line), he would be a top 5 player. Without that shooting, he is bottom Top 25 (AKA barely an All-Star) .

The question is whether you think acquiring Simmons is worth changing around your entire offense, because as others here say, Boston's offense requires 3-point shooting. The whole business model caves in if you have someone who can't/ won't do that.
