Why?

Cleveland needs to move on from Kevin Love. He's not part of their future plans. They get some decent rotational pieces and a draft pick.

Dallas takes a gamble on Love. He could really space the floor for Luka and be that third star next to him and Porzingis.

I think this is a bit of an overpay for Love, given his contract.

I think they won't take long term salary. they can get a good piece next summer on free agency. they have committed 85 million for 21-22 season. they can send a few role players easily to open max space.

For the same reasons Cleveland wants to dump Love, other teams looking to win don't want him and his contract.
