ESPN floated

Phoenix sends Rubio + Oubrie

OKC sends C. Paul + pick #25 (I added the pick)

Phoenix then drafts a PF (Precious or P. Williams) and resigns Baynes)

This seems like the only way I can see Paul in Phoenix.

I also don’t get Phoenix wanting to trade for him. They’re young, he’s old.

Have family in AZ. The owner lost a local election 2 years ago to get public funding for a new stadium.
Largest part of the push back was that the team has not made the playoffs in 10 years. Getting in the playoffs during the next 2 years will help the initiative when back on the ballot in 2022. Spend now, to make a massive amount in owning a public funded arena.

that's a cool story. sometimes its hard to understand what motivations ownership is working from. lots of decisions are based a lot more on external influences than just building the best team.

Where do you live Fredman? It's obviously not in Arizona. The owner actually WON an initiative for over $250 Million in renovations to the Arena and a new state of the art practice facility that will be the talk of the NBA. He isn't getting and won't need a new arena.
