Yes, no, and yes.

Why wouldn't you take the second trade?

Trading Lowry to a contender is the best Toronto can do for him.

Getting a pick for him is a good return, the guy is 34, becomes 35 this year. they're not going to give him another big ontract next year.
And taking Harris isn't that bad for a rebuilding team. He can play PF and SF, so the young players can get enough minutes, playing behind him. And he can score 20 point a game, so he can take the pressure from young players.
And Toronto isn't going to sign free agents if they trade siakam, so his contract isn't an obstacle.

Harris takes a 1rp at LEAST to unload him. Is Lowry worth literally nothing then?

We thought the same thing abt Horford yet his contract is worse and got an expiring contract player in Danny green with 1 first. Now I agree 2 1sts would be a good deal for Lowry.

Lowry is worth a first, but you have to take a contract back.
No team is going to give two first for dumping a bad contract and getting back an expiring contract.
toronto can take Harris his contract, so i would take the extra pick, if toronto trades Siakam.

these might be fine trades if Toronto had any interest in rebuilding, but with Siakam, Freddy and OG the Raptors have the core they want to build around. only way any of those 3 get traded is as part of a package to bring back a stud.

Harris is 28, averaging 19, 7, and 3 on shooting percents of 50/ 41/ 89 with a PER of 19. It doesn’t take a first to unload his contract. He’s a positive asset even making as much as he does.

And he’d be a pretty good fit in Toronto beside Siakam. I think Toronto would be smart to take this deal. I think it makes them better.

VanVleet, OG, Harris, Siakam, Boucher is a young talented starting 5 with tons of switchability. Not a great rebounding lineup, but not terrible.

I like the trade for both sides a lot.

Can OG play the 2 though? He's really more of a 3/ stretch 4 to me.

I had no idea Harris was averaging that.

Seems like OG, Siakam, and Harris could handle 2,3,4 defensively. I’d think OG could keep up with the faster 2’s around the league. Maybe not?

Totally agree with BMiller about Harris. He's been a big part of Philly's success so far this season. I don't consider him a bad contract for now.

Harris is a good player, he was succesfull in Detroit, LA and Philly, he only has a big contract for a non all star.

On defense they're very switchable but OG's shooting isn't good enough to play him at the 2 imo.
