OKC seems firm on moving on from Al Horford this offseason. I am praying we don't head for a Blake Griffin buyout type situation. I think we find a deal. Any ideas on what team could move on Horford? Here's one that make sense to me.

OKC gets Vernon Carey Jr

Hornets get Horford, two seconds

OKC gets a young guy to look at without giving up much attached to Al.

Hornets get Horford back with Hayward and Rozier. They could use a versatile big and have the cap this summer to absorb the salary. The seconds could help them round out the roster.

Thoughts? Any other destinations?

I don't think its that easy for Charlotte as they have to decide what to do with Monk and Graham. In order to have the cap space for Horford, Charlotte would have to not offer Monk and Graham Qualifying Offers.

The other side of the coin is that I do not see many other teams in a position to get Horford as well. Toronto? They have the cap space but it is dependent on what happens to Lowry (S&T with Toronto taking back some salary? ) and resigning Gary Trent Jr. San Antonio is in a similar situation as Toronto with DeRozen.

I guess I am not understanding OKC "desire" to move on from Horford right now. Even with Horford's salary on the books, OKC is around $40 mil UNDER the salary floor. Are there some FA signings that OKC expects to make with all this cap space?

If there wasn't a salary cap I'd be thrilled as a Raptor fan to get Al Horford. Problem is that his salary is just too high to fit in with Sikam, Fred and OG, especially with Trent getting a big raise in resticted free agency. His age puts him on a different timeline than the Raptors core.
I think his game would fit Toronto well, but his salary and age would not.
