Sixers receive: Dejounte Murray, CJ Mccolum & Robert Covington
Spurs receive: Ben Simmons
Trailblazers receive: Tobias Harris, Shake Milton, Pick #12 from SAS, Pick #28 from PHI & 2023 Top 5 Protected 1st from PHI

The Sixers flip Simmons to San Antonio for Murray and this year's 1st. Philly gets another defensive minded jack of all trades PG to replace Ben. They then send out 3 1sts along with Tobias & Shake in order to get back a primary shot creator and a wing defender in CJ & Roco. Starting 5 of Murray/CJ/Thybulle/Roco/Embiid with pieces like Maxey & Curry off the bench.

The Spurs take a gamble on a player with all the potential in the world. Pairing Simmons with Pop could be the best things to revitalize both careers. Simmons fits into the young group in San Antonio and can start the next chapter of his career. A starting 5 of Simmons/White/Vassell/Johnson/Poetl is young and very promising.

The Trailblazers gain much more flexibility with this move. As of now, they don't have many tradable assets which includes not having picks to deal. Here they get a lottery pick where they ultimately can try to draft CJ's replacement (Moody, Bouknight, Johnson, Springer) & a late pick from Philly; They also get a future 1st. Ultimately Tobias brings a different type of scorer to Portland that they haven't had before. Powell can be in the backcourt with Dame or at the 3 whatever fits best in the end. I believe this trade makes Blazers more dynamic and versatile for future transactions.

Not sure Ben is ready to deal with Coach Pop's tough love. Spurs do not get mentally weak players. So I would say that the Spurs pass.

Spurs couldn’t pass on that for so little.

Simmons is a big risk (salary) and big reward (defense/ potential) prospect. Spurs are a risk adverse organization. I don't think they want to trade Murray or any of their young core players. IMO the Spurs would only entertain a deal for Simmons if it was a sign and trade for DeRozan. Spurs may have to add something to the deal, but not much.
