Bulls sign and trade Markkanen and Aminu to Spurs along with 2026 1st. Bulls also send 2024 1st to 76ers.

76ers trade Simmons to Bulls

Spurs sign and trade DeRozan to 76ers.

Bulls get Simmons for Markkanen and two future firsts. Bulls also get rid of Aminu's salary for needed cap relief.

76ers get DeRozan, a future first from Bulls and cap relief for Simmons assuming DeRozan signs for less than Simmon's salary.

Spurs get Markkanen and future first from Bulls for DeRozan. Aminu becomes a cap rental for one year.

Derozan can’t shoot either. Rather keep elite defense and playmaking.

Bulls can't send 2024 pick to Philly because 2023 pick is going to Orlando.

good luck getting that one through the CBA.
and what would make you think these signed and traded players all want to go where you're sending them? . they have the control, not the GMs.

I think Philly could do better.

Orlando has the Bulls 2024 1st and you can't have more than 1 sign and trade involved in a trade.

actually you can have move than one sign and trade involved in a trade. See the Dlo-Durant trade as an example.

First, DeRozan is a very good shooter (50% FG) and (88% FT) . He averages 20 points per game for his career. Just because he doesn't shoot 3s doesn't mean he can't shoot.

Second, my bad, make it 2025 and 2027 picks from Chicago.

Third, it is a given that the sign and trade players have to accept in order for it to work. Since I don't personally know DeRozan, I can't speak to where he wants to play, but it is logical that he would want to go to a contender if possible (like Philly) . Without a sign and trade, the only playoff team that DeMar could go to and still get paid is the knicks. As far as Markkanen is concerned, he would not sign the agreement if he didn't want to go to the Spurs.

Forth, Philly might well do better for Simmons. Then again they may not.

Fifth, Orlando has Chicago's 2023 or 2024 pick. The most likely is that Orlando gets Chicago's 2024 pick. There is no rule prohibiting more than one player in a sign and trade deal.

2025 first doest work either because of the protections on the 2023 pick.

So I figured out (I think) how this could work within the CBA, but I'm not sure the Spurs would be too enthusiastic
You would first have to sign and trade deRozan for Simmons, If deRozan agreed to sign for, say, $25M/ yr for 3 years Philly could save $8M (salary would have to be close to 25 anyways for the deal to go through CBA)
Then the Spurs could trade Simmons to the Bulls for one of the Orlando picks and a signed Markkanen. Problem is you would have to pay Markkanen close to $21 million/ yr for 3 years to get the deal through the CBA. You cannot combine Aminu's salary here. Only the 1st year has to be guaranteed, but why would the player agree to only a 1 year $21M guarantee?
If the Spurs bit on the overpay (debatable by how much) you could then execute a side deal to send Aminu to San Antonio for a conditional 2028 2nd, and have Philly send a conditional 2028 2nd for the other Orlando pick.
Stucturally it works. I don't think the Spurs do it, but I admit that I'm not a Markkanen fan.

3pt shooting is shooting. That’s what will help spread the floor for Embiid in the post. Why trade 1 player who won’t shoot 3s for another player who won’t shoot 3s.

@windrap. Bulls don't have Orlando picks. Orlando has bulls picks.
