Spurs look to be rebuilding. I think they prefer giving minutes to Vassell White Walker and Primo.

Spurs have been re-building. They are ready to be competitive. Hield is only 27 and has only been in the league 5 years. He would be a great 6th man as he was the 2nd best 3 point shooter in the league last year. 3 point shooting is one of the Spurs weaknesses. He would be an upgrade without breaking the bank.

I think they might be ready to move on from Walker IV for several reasons, 1. He has shown promise but is still inconsistent. 2. He is due for a rookie extension that has not yet happened. 3. They just drafted his possible replacement in Josh Primo.

The Kings are the team that might balk at this deal, although they are rummored to be wanting to move Hield, I think they are hoping for more. They are a strong contender for Simmons so they might be saving Hield for bigger fish.

Spurs need a full-rebuild imo. Pop would never allow that though. I think they should either let him walk or trade him like how the Celtics traded Doc Rivers years ago. Then, hit the reset button.
