If Portland needs a full-rebuild, then why trade Hart for a pick 2 years from now?

Blazers say no. Hart has been terrific for them. He is young and is part of the rebuild.

I think this seems (mostly) realistic, with the exception of the Hart package. I would love to see Hart coming off the bench but if the Blazers are asset-hunting, I'm not sure that package gets it done. Maybe loosen the protections on the first or they'd probably have to throw in a prospect like Banton, Flynn, or Champagnie.

I think those deals for Boucher and Young are fair and I would love to see them both back. I had my "trade Boucher" moments early in the season, but now that he's settled back into and accepted his role I don't think they can afford to lose what he brings.

I like you're thinking in proposing Warren, Culver, and Biyombo. Even if it isn't those three, players in those moulds would go a long way to boost the depth for next season without breaking the bank or gutting their assets.

I think Boucher and Thad will get more than you're suggesting. And even at that, as you've constructed it the Raptors would be over the tax threshold. I don't think they'll do that until they believe they have a genuine contending team in place.
