A trade I seen if the Raps went more towards building for the future

Grizz - Siakam and Flynn

Raps - Adams(exp) Brooks(exp) Williams 29, 23 1st, and 24 1st via Gsw

Seems like a decent package for Siakam, Flynn is just a throw in that prolly doesn't have as much value as any of the assets that the Grizz are giving.

Morant/Flynn
Bane/Melton
FA(20 mil in cap)/Moore(22)
JJJ/Clarke
Siakam/Tillman

FVV/Montero(29)
Trent/Brooks
OG/Williams
Barnes/Boucher
Adams/Achuiwa
- very deep team now

Adams doesn't fit their style of play and the late first rounders don't seem all that valuable (to this team) . They just gave up a mid first in the Young trade and got a high second to go along with it. Webster even said straight up in a presser that they don't see much difference in value between a late first and an early second, other than the fact that you don't have guaranteed money attached to a second.

The only real value would be trying to flip those expirings and firsts for a star from a rebuilding/ retooling team, but in that case, why not just package Siakam for that star to begin with (Mitchell, Beal, Lillard)?

Masai's recent comments in his presser suggest he's doubling down on the roster construction. He concedes he'd like to have a bigger presence for rim protection and defensive rebounding he still insists that being able to play Nurse's style defensively is the most important factor in who he'll look to bring on. Brooks is the best fit of any of those guys, but he's expiring they wouldn't want to use bird rights to resign him anyway as they will have other pressures to deal with next summer. Adams would be a horrible fit, and the Raptors won't stall progress to bring him in even for a year. As to Siakam, Ujiri thinks he's not that far off being the superstar everyone wants to acquire by trading Pascal. he says he's incredibly proud of the way Siakam bounced back this year. So I doubt you'll see him in any serious trades consideration by the Raptors.
