Saw this in the comments of an article from the Athletic. They cited Bleacher Report as the source but I couldn't find the original article:

TOR: #7 pick (used on Dyson Daniels), Eric Bledsoe

POR: OG and no. 33

I admittedly don't know much about Daniels, but from highlight reels and reports he seems like a solidly built swiss army knife type of player who needs to improve his 3 point shooting, but plays excellent defense.

We've seen a few players significantly improve or even add a 3 point shot in a short amount of time working within the Raptors development system (Precious, Siakam, Barnes to a degree, GTJ, OG) .

With OG's injury history, I don't necessarily hate the idea of bringing in a younger guy who they can shape and develop alongside Scottie and Precious. If Daniels could fill the backup combo guard spot behind GTJ, improve his 3, and provide some solid playmaking and defense off the bench, I might be sold. There are enough guys on the roster that could make up for what they would lose by trading OG (including Daniels), and they would be adding a veteran backup for Freddie (Bledsoe) that would bring some valuable experience to the second unit and help mentor Daniels and the other young guys.

Slide Precious into the Starting C spot:

5 - Achiuwa. Boucher (re-sign)
4 - Siakam, Young (re-sign)
3 - Barnes, FA shooter
2 - GTJ, Daniels
1 - FVV, Bledsoe.

Is OG SIGNIFICANTLY better than Jeremi Grant? If Portland should not send #7 to Detroit for Grant, why should they send #7 to Toronto for OG?

I’m sure most disagree with you Fred, but I agree. It’s hard to give up a top 10 pick unless you’re getting a legitimate star. OG isn’t that tier of player. He’s a great role player.

Not saying Toronto should give him up for less. OG should be worth that much to Toronto. It’s just hard to find that return.

"Anunoby's trade value is seen as greater than Detroit's known asking price for Grant: two first-round picks or a first and a promising rookie-scale prospect, " Fischer added.

Just saw this quote. Not sure teams are interested in paying that price tag for oft-injured OG.

I would say OG is much better then grant. He's younger and top defender in the league plus comes at a very good price for his skill set. To be honest Raptor's would be better to not trade any of the 6. Siakim OG Barnes Trent Jr., freddy and achiewa. Draft #33 and bring in a bench with vets. Resign boucher and let young walk. Use mid level on a center or another combo guard.

Raptor's don't need to change anything yet. They need young drafted players but still need to win. Barnes is t ready yet to lead the team. 1 more years then you trade siakim and freddy for young players and draft picks.

To be clear, I don't think the Raptors will do anything major this offseason (stated numerous times) . Just saw this proposal, did some more research on Daniels, and found him intriguing.
