This maybe works if the Knicks already had two stars and were looking for an elite role player. But giving up youth and a pick for a guy that won’t really make them any better doesn’t make sense.

Houston traded Capela (who was basically flipped for a first) and a first for Covington.

If Robinson is worth a mid first and that pick is a Dallas first, this seems similar to the past Covington trade in terms of value. I don’t see how it’s crazy for Houston to want that much for him.

Since the DEN-MIN part of the four teamer didn’t involve HOU or ATL, it can be looked at as two separate trades,

MIN got the BRK 1st and the HOU 1st, which I think is a good price. It’s not like the Wolves didn’t love him, He fit their biggest needs perfectly (switchable PF who is good at 3P and great defender) and was KAT’s best friend on the team. I think it took two picks for MIN to trade him.

I’d love to have him back in MIN. The addition of Russell makes him more critical than ever. If the Rockets plan fails in the first round of the playoffs, and RoCo becomes available, I hope MIN would beat this offer from Knicksfan.
