MIN - NOP - PHI

MIN gets Ben Simmons
MIN gives #1 pick, #17 pick, #33 pick, Jarrett Culver, James Johnson

NOP gets Al Horford, #17 pick, #33 pick, James Johnson
NOP gives Jrue Holiday

PHI gets Jrue Holiday, Jarrett Culver, #1 pick
PHI gives Ben Simmons, Al Horford

(MIN could also throw in some combination of future 2nd round picks, Omari Spellman, future 1st round pick to grease the wheels)

MIN why: Ben Simmons, duh. Puts the team legitimately into win-now mode.

NOP why: While Horford is currently somewhat dead weight stuck between Embiid and Tobias Harris, he would actually provide value to the Pelicans next to Zion. They have space to take on expiring contract of James Johnson, and come away with the #17 & #33 picks, which they may stick with or combine with their #13 pick to move up.

PHI: Giving up Ben Simmons is not easy, but Jrue Holiday is MAYBE even a better fit for the team as a star-level, defense-minded guard who can shoot. Additionally, they get rid of Horford's contract, get an excellent prospect in Jarrett Culver, and bring in the #1 pick. JC and the pick could be kept or swapped for another win-now asset.

very good trade for all teams involved!

over value Simmons.

Ben Simmons and DLo? Not exactly sure how that works to maximize both players talent.

Pelicans deserve way more for giving up Jrue Holiday. He is the best player in the whole trade.

Fredman, I understand where you’re coming from, but DLo is capable of succeeding off the ball, and defensively Simmons is a dream come true for MIN.

I’d argue Simmons’s offensive talent is maximized when surrounded with capable shooters. DLo might lose some half court play-making opportunities when sharing the floor with Simmons, but overall I think the pair would benefit from playing with each other.

Philly is getting too much. The 1st should go to Pels by taking Horford and they give 13th to Sixers.

Okay? How does New Orleans take on the additional $17+ in salary (Horford+Johnson-Holiday) when Ingram's max deal (and the salary cap that is in place) takes up all their available cap space? New Orleans is letting Ingram walk to do this deal? ahhhhhh, no!

Good for all teams!? Seriously?

Pels get a mid and late 1st in a weak draft where they already have 4 picks and Horfords crappy deal for Jrue...

Horford is not good next to Zion and BI. He’s not good anywhere anymore. Pels would do better to resign Favors or trade for Turner

Philly is getting way too much in this deal

Bad trade for Pelicans.

@Fredman cap space is irrelevant when it comes to resigning Ingram since the Pelicans have his bird rights.
