OKC/ MIA/ DAL

OKC gets Dragic and Winslow and protections removed from the Miami 2023 1st

MIA gets Paul and C. Lee plus their 2021 1st via the Thunder

Dal get Olynyk and Nader

Miami gets Paul and Lee, who fit well around Butler, as well as picking up a first round pick back. OKC saves some picks, gets an expiring contract in Dragic and an asset in Winslow. Dallas flips Lee for a shooting big and a young wing player. Who says no?

Sooooo. Currently Miami is less than $1 under their hard cap imposed by the Butler S&T. This trade has Miami taking on around $5 mil in additional salary. So Miami has to add salary just to make the numbers work.

As for OKC, I think they are more open sending Miami Denver's 2020 first than one of the Miami picks.

OKC/ ORL

OKC gets Gordon, Fultz, and Bamba
ORL gets Paul and two firsts

ORL gets a PG that matches the ages of some of the guys they just invested in and OKC gets younger.

Absolutely not from the Magic.

I realize it doesn't seem realistic, but with ORL drafting Okeke that puts them at 3 starting caliber PFs in Gordon, Isaac, and Okeke. They are probably going to get rid of one and most likely Gordon because he will be the most expensive. They just committed huge, long-term contracts to Vucevic, T Ross, and A Aminu. That signals to me they want to win now which would be what this move is. They'd also get two firsts in the process. Seems like a win-win IF, and it's a big IF, ORL is truly trying to go all-in.

Trade possibility:

OKC gets Kent Bazemore

ATL gets Carmelo Anthony

OKC gets out of Melo's contract, even though they take on a relatively bad contract in Bazemore but they get a good 6th man. Melo goes to the Hawks and either gets to be the guy for a year OR they buy him out and everyone wins. Hawks get out of their contract, Thunder get rid of Melo and his contract, Melo gets his money and either a star role or FA.

Carmelo Anthony has no trade Cause.

Anthony has given no indication that he will accept any trade, and has stated that he will return to his ISO-offense style. Plus, he won't come off the bench even though his skills have deteriorated. All that plus his contract make him basically untradeable. Best move for OKC is to drop him and eat his contract rather than keep him and let his attitude drag down the team.

Supercollider attacking his favourite target again I see.

Hawks are only doing this if a picks comes with it. I appreciate that they clear an extra year of potential salary, but they’re early enough in their rebuild that they won’t be competitive until Bazemore’s contract is over anyway.

28 million, can't play D anymore And has no outside shot left. I'd say his current value is less than a can of Beef-a-Roni.

5.) 23 Jun 2018 21:00:05
It's best for OKC to buyout his contract to become a free Agent.

6.) 24 Jun 2018 02:29:38
Melo will be a good deadline chip. He'll be tired of something by then if okc is tired of him. Will likely agree to a trade for the remaining months of the season somewhere eastern located. Could waive him at the deadline too but unlikely.

Dacman - never played defense, never passed, never made players around him better.

8.) 24 Jun 2018 14:30:34
Melo waived his no trade when he got traded to OKC @Mike
Once it has been waived, he no longer has the option in his contract.
