I think the 76er's should trade Simmons, and build around Embiid (hopefully he stays healthy). Trade Simmons for another good point guard who can shoot. Keep Jimmy. Let Tobias walk and use that money to sign more shooters. Trade ideas? Thoughts?

Honestly, a swap of Simmons and Irving would probably fit the other teams significantly better than their current squads, but obviously would never happen.

Miami receives: Beal and Gortat
Washington receives: Whiteside, Waiters, and Tyler Johnson

Heat get a clear number 1 option in Beal and a serviceable veteran center who can help in the development of Bam.

Wizards know it's time to break up the Wall and Beal backcourt. They receive the post presence they need in Whiteside and get deeper at the guard position.

Let me know what you think.

Beal is worth more than that. Waiters and Johnson are bad contracts, and Whiteside is not a great fit in today’s NBA. I think to move one or more of those deals it’s going to need to include picks or a player like Winslow or Richardson.

Miami receives: Bradley Beal and Marcin Gortat
Wizards receive: Hassan Whiteside, Dion Waiters, Tyler Johnson

Wizards get a post presence that they badly need and get deeper at the guard position. And its time to seperate the Wall and Beal backcourt.

Heat get a number 1 option in Beal and form a dynamic backcourt in Dragic and Beal. They still keep their youngsters in Bam, Josh Richardson, and Winslow. They also solve there guard heavy rotation problem.
Heat:
Dragic
Beal
Richardson or Winslow
Olynk or James Johnson
Bam

Wizards:
Wall
Waiters
Porter
Morris
Whiteside
Let me know what you think please.

Cavs look like they need another playmaker and a shot blocker. Teams are getting to many easy buckets at the rim.

Cavs get: kemba, howard
Hornets get: clarkson, thompson, osman, 8th pick
sign ilyasova
sign luc mbah a moute
resign hood unless he gets a crazy offer
kemba/hill
jr/hood
lebron/korver
love/ luc mbah a moute/ ilysova
howard/zizic
Maybe also go after someone like jamal crawford.

What do you guys think?

Cleveland is one of the few good destinations for D Howard.
I like the 8 pick and clarckson for K Walker trade. (however the cavs like T Young)

The only problem for Cleveland is that they can lose both K Walker and LBJ in 2019 if things go wrong.

2.) 04 Jun 2018 13:12:28
I think that's the only move they could make to keep Lebron.

3.) 04 Jun 2018 22:31:56
Gasupo- Trae won't be there past orlando.

Memphis and Cavs.

Mem get: kyrie and shumpert
Cavs get: conley, selden and future 2nd

cavs take because conley is a better pick up than bledsoe in my opinion. Conley will be able to make other players better like love. The pg duo of conley and drose is better than just having kyrie. selden also has already played big minutes in the playoffs and he is a nice 3 and D young prospect added to their bench.

Grizzlies do this to get a new start with kyrie who is still pretty young, and they can keep gasol and try to build a contender from there or trade gasol for some young players and picks and rebuild. Kyrie fits in both plans.

Conley might be better than Bledsoe. but. he doesn't share the same agent as LeBron. nor have a close personal friendship with Lebron. as Eric Bledsoe does.

2.) 27 Jul 2017 03:13:35
I like the move for Memphis. They would be wise to get younger and Kyrie does just that for them. I think Conley is better than Bledsoe especially when you factor in Bledsoe's extensive injury history. Conley is a better facilitator and shooter and just as good a defender as one of top defensive point guards in the league. However, with Conely soon to be 30 and having 4 years of his massive contract left I think Cavs should get more than Selden. Maybe if Cavs include Frye Grizzlies will send J. Green since doesn't look like they are going to sign him and he'd be a great versatile 3 and D forward for the Cavs that is further along than Selden. Or include someone like Tony Alllen or James Ennis.

Heat get: Demar Derozan, Jonas Val.
Raptors get: Hassan Whiteside, Josh Richardson, Dion Waiters, Kelly Olynyk

Heat get number 1 scoring option. Raptors get a new look and a deeper roster.

It's an interesting trade idea but does it really help each team to do this? Miami gets derozan and loses Richardson and is still in salary Hell. Sort of the same for Toronto.

Everyone knows the cavs have very limited cap space. So if they want to get better they'll have to get creative. What do you guys think the cavs need to do to be get on the warrior's level?
(trades, buying a draft pick, etc)

The clearest way I think Cavs improve is to trade Love for multiple assets. Love isn't the reason they lost but he has never been a great fit and I think is more valuable as a trade asset than he is to the team. The return for Cavs should focus on getting them a solid two way sf/ pf that can replace Love in starting lineup and improving the depth with cheaper younger players (a lot of their role players are old and I think Cavs could be rejuvenated by youth) . Also, defensively Cavs need to improve a lot both on the wing and interior. Nuggets would be the most attractive trade partner since they have Wilson Chandler as the starting two way sf/ pf and also other intriguing veterans and young players. Hornets centered around Batum, Celtics centered around Crowder or Pistons centered around KCP could work as well and I think Love would be a great fit on all these teams since he'd be able to be minimally #2 offensive option.

If Cavs could move contracts like Frye and Shumpert/ JR Smith (their production can likely be replaced by a much cheaper player) I think those would be smart moves from a financial perspective to get them under luxury tax.

Cavs will also need to rebuild their bench via FA. It's unclear if Deron Williams and Korver will return (they'd have to take vet min) so Cavs will have holes at backup pg and center that they'll have to fill.

Cavs got killed on the boards against the Warriors so they need to improve there. Although he played poorly most of series I don't think moving him is the answer since he is typically a very good rebounder and is a great pick and roll defender. Only trade that may make sense is if Clippers lose their FA and would be willing to swap Jordan for Thompson since Thompson is younger and signed long term where Jordan only has a year left and would likely leave if Paul, Griffin and Reddick already left.

2.) 19 Jun 2017 15:21:25
Agree with a lot of what Jaw said. If they can get George that would be huge. They need more length. Specifically st the wing, but a long back up big man would be useful. If Melo can be had cheap it's worth exploring or if he gets bought out. He's not an ideal fit, but he's still an allstar caliber player who can provide offense. Moving Love could be a good move, but only if the right deal comes along. Selling low isn't going to help anything. I think Shumpert is a player with a little bit of value that they should look to trade as well. The biggest thing I see is Lou needs to change his philosophy. The Cavs can't try to go uptempo with the Warriors. Slow them down, limit shots, and frustrate their shooters.

think this helps the pacers to much for the celtics to do it considering they're in the same conference.
