Forbes is better than Prince, why give up 19 with him?

They have comparable stats, but Prince has attributes that the Spurs badly need. Forbes, while a fan favorite is somewhat redundant on their roster.

Forbes is a great shooter and average defender at best. He also is a small SG (6'3") .

Prince is SF and 6'9". Spurs have several replacements for Forbes, but desperately need a defensive SF.

Salaries are comparable. Prince has an additional year. Forbes is expiring. Both are due for a raise, but Prince can be delayed a year.
