If Lowry says he wants to go home to chase a ring this year then this might be the best that can be done to accommodate him. That's the only way this would make sense. Drummond is not a good fit in Raptors offense (can't shoot 3 or open the floor) or defense (not switchable) so it's unlikely he'd make Toronto better.

Only if Lowry says he wants out, then sure, nothing to lose, except trying to sign Drummond to 9-12mil a year for the next 2.
