Realistic summer plan for Lakers

- draft J.Okafor (2nd pick)
- trade 27th pick, 34th pick and cash considerations for 20th pick
- draft J.Anderson (20th pick)
- reject team options of J.Hill and R.Sacre
- renounce all the players rights except the players below
* Capholds: Bryant (25M), Young (5.22M), Okafor (4.25M), Randle (3.13M), Kelly (1.72M), Anderson (1.26M), Davis (0.95M), Ellington (0.95M), Black (0.85M), Clarkson (0.85M) and Brown (0.85M) = 44.17M
--> 67.1-44.17= 22.93M cap space

* As soon as free agency starts (July 1st), offer K.Leonard and J.Butler full-max contracts, including trade kickers and player options (their teams will have 3 days to match the offer if they want to retain the player).

Option 1 - If one of their teams doesn't match the offer (it's unlikely but there is a little chance):
- sign K.Leonard/J.Butler (4-year, 67M: starting from 15.9M, includes trade kicker and player option at last year of the contract)
- sign K.J.McDaniels (3-year, 15M: starting from 4.8M, includes team option)
- trade R.Kelly to 76ers for a future 2nd round pick
- renounce rights of W.Ellington
- sign M.Williams (1-year, 5M)
- resign E.Davis (4-year, 30M)
- sign G.Datome (2-year, 5M: includes team option) via room exception
- sign R.Sacre and D.Buycks (1-year, min.)

Clarkson - Williams - Buycks
Bryant - McDaniels - Brown
Butler/Leonard - Young - Anderson
Davis - Randle - Datome
Okafor - Black - Sacre

Option 2 - If both teams match the offers (sorry, lakers fans but that's the likely one):
- sign D.Carroll (4-year, 40M: starting from 9.36M)
- trade R.Kelly to Celtics for G.Wallace (10.11M) and one of BOS's 2016 1st round picks (less favorable one)
- sign M.Williams (1-year, 5M)
- resign E.Davis (4-year, 30M)
- resign W.Ellington (1-year, 3M)
- sign D.Sloan (2-year, 5M: includes team option) via room exception
- sign R.Sacre (1-year, min.)

Clarkson - Williams - Sloan
Bryant - Ellington - Brown
Carroll - Young - Anderson
Davis - Randle - Wallace
Okafor - Black - Sacre

Would love to get Butler or Leonard, but like you said it's highly unlikely.

However, with the approximately $22 million in cap space, I still think we can do some things.

- Sign Danny Green for $10-12 million. A bit of an overpay IMO, but to lure someone it has to be done. Plus the cap goes up the next few years anyway. He's a perfect 3 and D guy.
- Sign Beverley for $5 million if possible. Another excellent defender and solid 3pt. shooter.
- Re-sign Davis to back up Randle.
- Sign Morrow for part of the MLE.

PG - Beverley, Clarkson, Price
SG - Kobe, Morrow, Brown
SF - Green, Justin Anderson (3 and D guy), Young
PF - Randle, Davis, Kelly
C - Okafor, Black, Sacre

@narley
1. Morrow is not a free agent.
2. Rockets would match a 5M-per-year contract for Beverley.
3. Lakers won't have MLE; they will have room exception in which they can offer 2-year, 6M contract for a player.
4. In this situation, Lakers would still have 7M cap space after signing Beverley and Green. Davis' caphold is just under 1M, so they can spend on players till team's salary reaches 66.15M. Then, they can go over the cap to resign Davis via early bird rights.

@EU
I've seen you post that numerous times about the MLE. That's not how I understand how it works. The MLE was initially set at $5 million for a duration of four years for teams that are over the cap either before or after the signing, but under the luxury tax apron, which is $4M above the tax line.

So if they use the MLE to go over the cap, they get the full $5.5M (it increases 3% every year since the last CBA)
