Wizards rather have Wall plus he isn't a troublemaker like cousins. Also even if it's the first pick, Simmons alone isn't enough for KD. It took the Cavs Wiggins and Bennett plus some to get Love and KD is way better than Love.

K Love trade was simply a trade technically and philly was involved so the salaries worked that way with Phillys help. Sign and trade KD for just the first pick I wouldn't believe it would work. More would have to be added contract wise. Example KD I bet will sign for at least 25 mil a year so to match the difference of 5.5 mil for the first pick Hibbert, Lou Williams and Young plus the first maybe would work for KD.

Trade. However, what I don't recall is if Love and KD where in the same contractual situation.

In addition, if the Lakers did get the 1st pick, Simmons' upside is higher than Wiggins', and that's saying a lot.

The lakers are projected to have around 65 million in salary cap this offseason so the sign and trade for durants max contract wouldn't be a problem. The love trade was not a sign and trade but it basically was as love resigned with the cavs.

The point was you can't analyze the two trades and values of return. A trade warrants relatively equal benefits. A sign and trade is just trying to get whatever you can by allowing for a longer contract. The 1st overall would be more than enough.
