Suns Get: 2nd pick, Luol Deng

Lakers Get: 4th pick, 2018 Miami 1st, 2018 Raptors 2nd

Magic "is in love" with Fultz but the Lakers don't stand a chance to get him now, so moving down and are guaranteed to still get one of Ball, Jackson and Fox. Phoenix take on Deng's preposterous contract but get to get whoever they feel the 2nd best player in the draft is.

Some minor reworking to your deal.

Suns Get: 2nd pick, Luol Deng, Lakers #28 pick 2017

Lakers Get: 4th pick, 2018 Miami 1st, Suns #32 in 2017, Brandon Knight

Suns take Deng's nasty contract. get some of it relieved by the Lakers taking the remainder of Knight's deal. (about $5m per year to the good for LA)

Although Deng's contract doesn't hurt Suns cap space is still valuable and they are still giving up a Miami pick where there is no telling what team they'll be (Team they started as which was one of worst in league or one they ended as which record wise was one of best in the league for that stretch) .

I like Phxfan's trade more from a value perspective although Lakers entire motivation of doing this trade is that they don't need Josh Jackson at #2 with George saying he wants to come aboard next year and may still be able to get Ball at #4 while clearing cap space to get George and some help for him next offseason. Only clearing 5 mill per year and moving back a few spots to 2nd round (although contract isn't guaranteed which is a plus) makes it a lot less appealing.

If Lakers are trying to clear cap space for 2018 free agents, taking on Knight's contract doesn't make sense.

Just #2 and Deng for #4?
