Hawks / Hornets

Hawks get: Malik Monk, Nic Batum, Marvin Williams and a future 1st

Hornets get: Kent Bazemore, Dwayne Dedman, Tyler Dorsey and Omari Spellman

Hawks get a young scorer that could get good minutes coming of the bench or even starting since they are rebuilding anyways. Trae Young needs a backcourt mate to take the pressure of himself. Then the Hawks get back Marvin William's for some more depth off the bench behind Collins. He may have been a bust the first time around in Atlanta but I believe he could be a nice veteran role player in his 2nd stint in Atlanta. (Waive Batum)

Hornets get Kent Bazemore who can help ball handling and take some pressure of Kemba, he's a good 3 and D player that has playoff experience. Dedman is a solid big that does his job every night he rebounds blocks shots and can hit occasional 3s, Tyler Dorsey has seemed to lost some rotation minutes in Atlanta but he's still young enough to keep improving he's a good 3 point shooter but that's about it. Spellman is a big ball of energy that can rebound block shots and shoot the 3 the Hornets could use more depth at Center.

I think this trade helps both teams, Charlotte makes a push for the playoffs and Atlanta takes another step towards RJ or Zion.

Bazemore isn’t getting you a first or Monk and not both. That contract is awful. You’d have to take on bad money just to get anything out of him.

You're waiving 53 million over two years in Batum's contract? Might as well keep him and let him play that out, at least one of the years.

I agree with Bmiller, Batum is way overpaid but he isn’t a bad player.
