Honestly, if Knicks have to give up that much, then no. Not saying that other than Robinson that there is another potential star in this group, but this would literally leave them with three roster players, both of the other two with team options. Add KD and Kyrie, how do you fill out 8 more positions with no money and expect to be deep enough to really compete.

Knicks have 6 1st rd picks over the 4 yrs. Davis team already told no celtics extension. Teaming Barrett and Zion is ideal. Pelican management will avoid both La Teams to keep Davis out of the west. Once Thomas is cut, pelicans 8 mil in salary from this trade with the knicks. It a no brainer even without Robinson for.

Triangle, if you can keep like Dotson or Trier, split your mle into 2, and fill out the rest of the roster with ring chasing veterans, you’d be better off. DSJ and Knox have no place on that team and aren’t going to be given the chance to develop. RJ wouldn’t be a great fit either. He needs to get touches on ball. Robinson would be a must for the Pelicans. Get Davis and figure the rest out. Ainge thinks he keeps Kyrie, if he gets Davis. If that’s true, the Knicks could be in a precarious position. What if KD can’t find a running mate with the Knicks that he finds acceptable. That seems to be the only non Dolan doing something stupid way that the Knicks could mess this up. Theoretically, if you get Davis, you get the best player in the game right now in KD, Ad who is in that elite tier of the top 8ish players that all on any given night could be far and away the best player in the game, and Kyrie who is a top 12 player. You just need bodies around them that can hit some open shots and be in the right places on defense. Once you get to the playoffs, you’re not playing more than 9 guys in crunch time any way and plenty of teams play 8.
