I actually think Aldridge and Griffin would work pretty good together. Aldridge is more of a center as he has aged anyway. It's definitely not a bad thing to have more guys that can space the floor. And both are average or so defenders. They wouldn't have a great rim defender, but they wouldn't be horrible either.

I just don't think it's smart for SA to do an all in move like this when realistically they're not going to compete for the championship. Griffin needs to be a "last piece" kind of move. That's not the place SA is at.

BMiller, I think you are assuming that Aldridge see himself as more of a center. Which according to people I know around the SA area, he does not. Much like AD doesn't want to be playing center either.

Fair enough, I just think that's a stupid mentality by him (though he's very selfish, so it's not that surprising) . I think if you pair him with an all NBA PF, he'd be more receptive of it. Playing small ball, with someone like Gay at PF would be much worse for him.
