Spurs/76ers trade

Spurs trade: Rudy Gay, 2020 First (11th pick), 2022 First

76ers trade: Josh Richardson, Zhaire Smith

76ers can get under the luxury tax in 2022, re-do on Smith draft pick who has been disappointing.

Spurs get starting SG and potential player in Smith.

If too much for Spurs, maybe 1 first or 1 first and a second.

Something like this is only possibility if 76ers see some prospect/ really like the pick 2020.

If so. Phi could accept. But don't think spurs Will give up 2 firsts.

Suggest looking back at the last time Spurs gave up a first round pick in a trade. This is not something that they do.

Yea I know they don't give up first round picks but they also don't miss the playoffs. They need to do something to get starters who can compete. Lyles and Forbes are not starters. I would love to flip Gay's salary slot ($15mm) for a starter. To do that, Spurs would have to add pick (s) . Spurs have young players who can replace Gay's production so he would not be much of a loss.

Spurs will have massive cap space in 2021 (over $60mm) . They need to figure out how they are going to spend that salary.
