Not sure if they want them but would be fun to see Drummond in Dallas and his contract expires so if he is not a fit they could part ways after the seasons.

Cavs get Powell, Johnson, 2nd 2021
Mavs get Drummond

OK for me, also the move the 3y contract of Powell, Drummond can delivery similar and Mavs may be able to sign him in the similar price range for next years.

But not sure if Cavs would agree to take the 3y contract of Powell. To send Boban, WCS and Johnson instead with only 1y left of there contracts would be ok for me as well.

Having Drummond, Mavs could go all in at Beal or make a good offer for Oladipo or LaVine.

Try giving 25 and 27 first and pay second round pick to ny to take off protection. Powell Stein kleber and Burke clears cap.

not enough. It is a second round pick by itself for taking Powell back in the trade because of his contract.

Boban+WCS+Johnson+PICKS requires Cleveland to waive Dotson+Wade to create the roster spots to complete this trade. Cleveland is actually a playoff team at the moment, so I don't understand why they would be willing to part with Drummond (starting center) for Dallas's trash. Cleveland makes more money by making the playoffs then any money they save by buying Drummond out (let alone trading him for trash) .

Just not even close to enough incentive for Cleveland to do this AT THIS TIME.

To be honest, I am also surprise about Cavs plan to buyout Drummond. But also clear, they have traded a 1st pick for Allen, what will be their Center for the future. To get Johnson and Boban, Cavs would save money and it may be fair, if they get their 2nd pic back, invested in Drummond, in such a trade.

So maybe Johnson, Boban, 2nd for Drummond.

Johnson+Boban enough salary for Drummond? Deal pushes Mavs into the Luxury Tax bracket for a team that still may not make playoffs. Also, isn't Doncic's max extension on the near horizon as well?

Drummond y can sign at MLE next season and Luca get only maxed for 2023. So y will see a lot of nice players joining Dallas before.

Drummond going to get over 20 and Cleveland increasing his value a lot. Cleveland can take on some salary and get a first for him or like I said they can take on salary from Dallas and get two future first.

Drummond isn't getting bought out. They have a late 2nd invested in him. They will let him walk or get assets back in a sign and trade. The Cavs aren't scared to spend, that's the Cleveland baseball team.
