So the Celtics new starting lineup is
Thomas
Dragic
Butler
Horford
Whiteside

with these guys on the bench
D Jackson
Gerald Green
Jordan Mickey

THIS IS NOT happening. No way the Celtics give up 7 rotation players, two nets picks, two additional future first round picks, Ante Zizic for Jimmy Butler, Whiteside, and then another PG when they have Thomas.

This is horrible.

So tom brady are you saying that this starting line up won't have a chance of being 1st in the East and able to make it to the finals? And their bench would also consist of Jerebko, and maybe some from the D- League or another trade.
I think you might be a little twisted if you think that line up wouldn't contend with Cleveland and the West. For the past few weeks they have had 2 PG's in the starting line up. This line up is no way horrible. If they were able to make those trades you'd be eating crow.

You need to have a bench to be able to contend. That's why those first Heat teams lost even though they had LeBron, Wade and Bosh. Beside that, the starting five would be a completely dysfunctional unit as well. They have been playing with multiple PGs at times because Smart is out there as a defensive bulldog. That's not Dragic. Whiteside is a ball stopper. His assist numbers are atrocious, and that's a major factor in Stevens' system. You also are completely throwing away the future of the team in order to try to contend right now. With the way things are, I'm not throwing away everything for a maybe. I'm pushing to compete now while still keeping an eye on the future.
