Portland get: Butler, Dieng, and Patton.

Wolves get: McCollum, Aminu, and Collins.

Portland has other players too that can make a deal feasible, and perhaps Gibson might want to go with Butler, and if that were the case and a deal could be made for Butler, Dieng, and Gibson, then Portland could possibly unload Turner if they are willing to give up other young players.

Blazers get: Butler, Dieng, and Gibson.

Wolves get: McCollum, Turner, Collins, and Swanigan.

Everyone has done great trading Dieng alongside butler in proposals on here. Until now. This is overvaluing butler and Dieng and undervaluing all of the blazers players.

Portland would definitely want to do the second over the first.

From everything I've heard, Collins is likely untouchable. Olshey is enamored with him. Even if Collins wasn't untouchable, I think Collins and McCollum is too much for Butler. McCollum for Butler straight up is fair value to me considering contracts, no need to throw in Portland's best prospect too.

In the second deal, I could see swapping Collins for Simons or a first since Portland would be unloading a terrible contract too (though they'd be taking back an equally bad one) .

In this particular situation that seems to have varying levels of complication regarding butlers wish list and expiring contract, I think cj for butler straight across is more than fair. Maybe add trent or simons if butler is committed to staying for a couple seasons at least.

I like the 2nd trade, and perhaps Collins can't be dealt (perhaps Meyers Leonard can be substituted in place of him or Swanigan), but even they did they would be somewhat in contention this season, or at least be a lock to make the playoffs in a competitive Western Conference. The main reason for this deal though is for the Blazer to be able to make sure Lillard stays, and if they were to have a good season it's very possible that they can convince Butler to stay as well. Their lineup for the upcoming season with this 2nd trade would be good and solidify more depth up front (which they need at this point) .
