Bulls:2020 #1 and J. Johnson

Timberwolves:2020 #4 and K. Dunn (S&T, 3 yrs, 18 mill)
------------------------------------
Bulls:
PG:White/Ball(Draft)
SG:LaVine/Valentine(Re-sign)
SF:OPJ/Hutchinson
PF:WCJ/Young/Johnson
C:Markkanen/Gafford
------------------------------------
Timerwolves:
PG:D'Russ/Dunn
SG:Okogie/KCP(FA)
SF:Beasley/Culver
PF:Okongwu(Draft)/Spellman
C:KAT/Reid
------------------------------------
There is multiple reason why it only takes Dunn to move up.
------------------------------------
1:This is a weak draft class, so it won't take that much to begin with.
------------------------------------
2:Dunn is a perfect fit bc he is one of the best defensive guards in the league and the T-Wolves D sucks.
------------------------------------
3:The Bulls take on Johnson's fat, expiring contract to help clear space.

Nope, not close to enough. Last time someone moved up in the top 5, it costed a top 10 pick. Dunn is maybe worth a second rounder in a trade. The Bulls would have to give up their 2021 pick (top 3 or 5 protected) to move up.

The “weakness” or “strength” of the draft is meaningless. If you want to move up, it’s because you really want someone at the top of the draft, so clearly someone is valuable to you.

No it isnt, last year when Zion and Ja were available it would take a lot more to move up than this year.

There are drafts (Zion, Lebron, AD) where the top pick simply wasn’t tradeable because it was too valuable. The only time top 3 picks come available is when there isn’t a consensus no brainer pick.

Also, you can’t trade the pick and sign and trade someone. Free agency starts after the draft, so a moot point.

Dunn doesn't move you from 4th pick to 1st pick, even in this mushy draft class.

As a Wolves fan, I’m screaming for Gerson Rosas’ job if he makes this trade and I’m a big Rosas fan. They already have too all defense (meaning that’s all the do well) in Okogie and Culver. There is no way Dunn moves the Bulls from 4 to 1. There may be no clear number one this year, but there is general agreement on the top 3.

Dunn doesn’t move you from 4 to 3.

It is always better to give your GM the choice of players.
