Three Wolves trades for Simmons. Which one looks most realistic, or are they too high/low?

First:
To 76ers -> Russell, Beasley, 2022 Second
To Wolves -> Simmons, Hill (to make salaries match)

Second:
To 76ers -> Russell, Beasley, 2023 First Top 5 protected
To Wolves-> Simmons, Hill

Third
To 76ers -> Russell, 2022 First Top 5 protected, 2024 First top 5 protected

If we give up both Russell and Beasley, I say no.
The most Twolves should give is Beasley, Rubio, Okogie and 1 future first.
Okogie could be sent to Brooklyn for pick 27.

I have seen the third on multiple other sites but the 2022 is unprotected so that it transfers IAW with Stepien Rule for the 2024 pick.

3.) 06 Jul 2021 04:41:46
Wrong again Fredman.

4.) 06 Jul 2021 10:26:33
None of them. got to get a 3rd team in cause minny doesn’t have what philly wants.

This would have to happen after the draft, so that the Stepien rule no longer applies to future Wolves pick.

76ers -> deLo, Jaylen Nowell, lottery protected 2022 1st

Wolves -> Simmons

Simmons gets more imo.

Dlo seems to be at his best in a pick-n-roll style offense. Not sure that is Doc's style especially with Embiid.

Wolves-Hawks

Hawks - Okogie,Reid, 2023 1st (top 10 protected)

Wolves - Collins

Wolves have three cheap non-guaranteed contracts, Hawks get their pick.

Hawks get wing defender, young big and a first.

Wolves get a legit starting 4.

Can’t see it. Atlanta goes 12 deep right now. Even the end of the bench is not bad. They are ready to compete. Collins is a young 20/ 10 starter. Okogie wouldn’t be in the top three in SG depth chart, Bogi, Huerter, Snell, even Kris would play ahead of him. Even Reid, will he take time from Capela or the new rookie? In my opinion Atlanta is past a trade like this. If Collins is going to get traded it will be as a piece for an established star.

The only way you get Collins is for KAT period

There are two Wolves trades that I've seen proposed as part of recent mocks. There are also two trades of my own that I'd like to propose. I'd like to get any thoughts you might have.

1) Mentioned by John Hollinger at the Athletic

Charlotte- #1 pick + Omari Spellman + Jacob Evans
Wolves - #3 + Miles Bridges + #32

2) Proposed by Colin Ward-Henninger at CBS

Detroit - #1 + James Johnson

Wolves- #7 + 2022 1st with possible protections + Tony Snell. (Personally, I'm not big on Snell and would prefer to make this all picks. I'd propose a top 3 protection.)

3) Proposed by me

Orlando - #17 + James Johnson
Wolves - Aaron Gordon

4) Proposed by me.

Kings or Pels - #17 + #33
Wolves - #12 or #13 (To draft their preferred of the remaining between Nesmith, Bey or Achiuwa)

Thoughts?

1 and 3. Meh. Possible just not overly exciting. #3 probably most likely.

#2. Not enough. One future protected pick will not get a team from #7 to #1. Johnson for Snell is a push.

#4. Kings pass at #12. Kings already have 3 other 2nds so #33 is not that appealling. Plus Kings would jump on Nesmith. Pelicans may do it, but probably want choice of Anthony, Lewis or Hampton.

2.) 11 Nov 2020 07:32:40
1. Not a big fan of Miles Bridges. Spellman is probably worth the #32. I’d say this is ok, but I would prefer a little more access to upside. It should probably have a third team - CHA probably doesn’t want Wiseman AND Spellman, and MIN doesn’t need a 2nd rounder this year.

2. I agree with Fredman. #7 to #1 is a pretty big leap. I know Rosas wants a pick in the lottery next year, so maybe if the protections are limited, Ball would be a great fit here - learn from Derrick Rose.

3. I am lukewarm on #17 for Aaron Gordon. The price is fine, but he’s a poor three point shooter, and I am not sure he cares much about basketball of his team.

4. Moving up a few picks is a good idea, because of MIN’s roster crowding, these are impossible to predict though - it will depend on how the draft goes.

3.) 11 Nov 2020 13:18:05
Minnesota would always take another second, lotta good players in the second round this year and you can put them on a two-way contract.

The latest CBS mock has the Wolves and Hornets making a trade at the top of the draft. They don't however say what else is involved in the trade. That got me thinking about what such a trade would involve. Here is my opening gambit.

MN -> #3 pick, PJ Washington, Cha 2021 1st (top 3 protected)

Cha -> #1 pick

Thoughts?

Seems like fair value. That said, it seems like there’s a consensus top 3. Moving from 3 to 1 feels like a bad idea for a team with no top end talent. Just take the last of the top 3 and keep the assets.

2.) 17 Oct 2020 16:35:03
This trade would have to happen on draft night, otherwise it’d violate the Stepien rule. You can’t trade first round picks in consecutive years. Value wise it looks decent though.

3.) 17 Oct 2020 16:38:01
Feels like too much.

4.) 17 Oct 2020 16:41:20
Wayyy too much.

5.) 17 Oct 2020 17:51:25
As a Wolves fan, I would love to swap 1 for 3 and Washington (forget the 21 1st) .

But I can't see Charlotte giving up such a promising player to move up 2 spots when the are already guaranteed to get one of the top 3 prospects anyway.

Can’t the Knicks make the most possible cap space in the league. Why do they need a sign and trade?

I’m a Minnesota fan and would love to see hope, but why on earth would Atlanta do this.

KAT and Siakam had the exact same drtg/ 100. His DBPM is better than Siakam’s. Saikam did have a little more DWS (.4), but he also played 300 more minutes than KAT. KAT was much better than Siakam in both WS/ 48 and PER.

So many people on this site have such a recency bias. KAT had a bad year after his mother died, he got c.v. and he got injured. What a bum! Simmons had a rough playoffs. The 76ers will be lucky to get two 2nds and a bag of used balls. It’s hilarious.

KAT had the worst year of his career last year because of family tragedy, c.v. and injury. It was at least as good as Siakam’s best season despite all that. I’ve been a big fan of Siakam and would love to add him to the Wolves. I also know they won’t trade him for anything short of a king’s ransom.

I’m not saying the Wolves are trading DLo, but Rosas could just as easily be trying to up his perceived value as part of a Simmons. It is front office smoke screen season and Rosas can blow it with the best of them.
