As much as Lakers need to get rid of Russ, I wouldn’t give up a huge expiring contract and their only future asset for an injury-riddle Hayward.

Don't know why I see all the Westbrook to Charlotte for Rozier and Hayward trades. They say it's because it creates cap space next year for Charlotte.

Fact is, Charlotte can keep both of their 1st round picks and re-sign Bridges to a max deal and still be under the luxury tax. Then, they have $30 million coming of the books next summer (Plumlee, Ourbe, and Batum's waived and stretched contract) .

And in the summer of 2024, Hayward comes off the books before Ball's extension would kick in.
