LAL-PHI

Clarkson, Randle
Noel, Covington

LAL form a respectable young core of Russell, Ingram and Noel; PHI solve clog at C, add good young shooter, and form nice diverse forward rotation with Simmons, Randle and Saric.

I actually really like this deal for both teams. Clarkson would have to be a sign and trade but it still works. La is getting a really solid player in Noel. Hell really help that teams defense over the lenght of his career and Russel will love the lobs. Covington is a nice get as well. Good back up shooter. Can play sg or sf or even pf but I'd prefer he be a bench guys in the future.

The reason I wouldn't do this from the sixers perspective is that as things are, you'd have Randle and okafor as the 4/ 5. I think we can all agree that would be the worst defensive front court in the league. And it isn't even close.

Knicks all the way

I see your point but for me Noel and Oakfor are the worst defensive pairing in the league. Noel doesn't play pf worth a damn. He's so busy trying to get blocks on help plays he forgets to put a hand up on his own man.

Oakfor is actually a better defender in his limited time at pf.

Noel is best at center because it's the least skilled position in the game right now. He can spend a majority of his time help defending and not worry about the opposing teams center scoring. Not to mention the match up issue on offense for him. He can use his one real advantage on offense of being quicker then most centers in the league. That's really how he scores. But against pf that advantage is voided because of are quick too.

That is a bit problematic, i agree, but you'll never get a complete two way players for Noel, as he himself is dominantly one-dimensional. Second, PHI is in no rush, they won't be chasing any results as immediately as next season and can let themselves try this out. Possible gains are considerable - if Embiid shows he is at least decent on D, even with 2nd unit, playing Randle along him and Simmons could compensate his terrible D to some degree, and can form a nice FC for at least season or two, until you get a better perspective on them and how they are developing (there are also Okafor and Saric in mix, Grant too, I think they should be able to work something out)

Yeah i understand all that! I also think that clarkson/ randle is overvalued. Especially with the massive salary bump clarkson is going to get.

Clarkson is a flat out steal at under a million. But at 12-15 million which he will likely get. can you say he's really that big of a bargain? I prefer Noel. I think you always need a big defensive anchor to grow a team. Championships always need a piece like that. Is Noel an elite, top 10 all star in the league? No, but no one involved here is. I just think over the long haul, Noel will have the greatest value and the Sixers should either stick with him or get better value.

Don't think sixers should be making moves if they land Simmons probs best to see what they have with Saric coming over, see if embiid can stay healthy, whose their main star to build round Embiid, Simmons, Okafor and then make changes according to the guy their building around if Simmons is the next star it maybe worth keeping Noel to play Center and get some shooters in the backcourt as 3 point shooting is proving more valuable the more Gsw keep dominating and having loads of talents bigs will have loads of trade value.

If Sixers bring Simmons, Saric and (gulp) Embiid into the mix next year, why would they want Randle? Plus, every Laker fan has posted that Randle and OK4 would be terrible together. So its ok to make them terrible together on the Sixers but there's no way you'd accept them being terrible together on the Lakers?

If you want this trade to occur, you'd have to find a third team so as to separate OK4 and Randle.
