You can't top 3 protect the 17 pick. The lakers only have it if it's top 3 and I think you would need to adf Russell or Ingram to it. The 2nd trade is bad.

The '17 pick isn't protected. Lakers only get it if it's top 3. I'm saying the future 1st also included for Butler (in 2019) should have some protection on it.

I think Randle for the #10 pick (NOP) is pretty fair. SAC takes Deng's contract for a 1st rd and future 2nd. You could add another future 2nd if you want, but I think that's pretty fair no?

Misread the first one my fault. As for the 2nd one, I think they would rather take their chances with the lottery. It's a stack draft and they would control the guy for four years for cheap. They would have to commit some where around 30 to 40 million in all after resigning Randle and taking on Deng just to get Randle who is decent and still pretty young, but doesn't look like a guy who is going to ever be more than a mediocre starter. He's a back to the basket player without a ton of length or athleticism in a league that's moving away from that. Unless he develops a really solid outside shot I'm not sure where he fits in a modern offense. Plus, they may be able to get a late first out Affalo on his own.

If lakers keepthere 2017 pick, then 2018 i protected #1 goes to the sixers. You cannot trade consecutive #1 picks, therfore lakers can't offer the 2019 pick on a trade. Making your trade impossible.

I can't follow your trade. You need to re-write it, and include NOP

From what you've written, I don't think Randle, in the final year of rookie scale, is worth anything close to the #10 pick. He hasn't shown he's even a starter on a team, and even if he does this season, a team will have to pay to keep him.

Deng might be able to be moved for cap space for the #10, but remember this is $64 mil. I don't think you're expecting a little too much if you want the de down to also get the HOU pick and the DEN 2nd.

Jvoug is right - even if you get the 2017 HOU 1st, you can't trade the LAL 2019 1st. You could offer the 2020, or "a pick to be conveyed two years after an outstanding future pick"

not giving a top 3 pick for a player whos not in the top 3 and doesn't make his team better.

RamonChong, what? Butler is a top 20 player. How is he not worth a top 3 pick? The Lakers have had 3 top 3 picks recently and none of them look like they'll ever be any where near as good as Butler.
