Spurs plan to hire CP3

first Spurs cannot trade away all their players to get CP3, because otherwise Spurs wouldn't be such competitive. CP3 should take some discount for his own will

- trade Gasol to Celtics for 2 future 2nd round picks
- Manu retires, cut Forbes
- sign CP3 to 3year what's possible (with player option). Don't know the exactly cap holds
- resign Mills, Simmons, Dedmon & Lee

CP3/Mills/Murray/(Parker out till January)
Green/Mills/Simmons
Leonard/Simmons/Anderson
Aldridge/Lee/Bertrand
Dedmon/Aldridge/FA vet

They would still need to move atleast one and possibly two of Parker, Green, and Aldridge.

Not sure the Celtics would want to pay a part-time 37-year-old $17 million for 20 minutes a game.

Celtics never take Gasols contract!

rkenne is correct, getting rid of Gasol still leaves the Spurs with less than $15M to spend including cap holds. No one will deal for Parker right now, and Danny doesn't clear enough space by himself. That leaves LMA, who if he's moved for Cap Space leaves the frontcourt threadbare.

Without Parker retiring via medical, I don't see how the Spurs clear enough space for CP3 and still field a championship team.
