Lakers trade 2 and Mozgov to Sac for 5 and 10th picks and anything else they can pry out of Sac.

Lakers trade 10th pick to Portland for 15th and 20th picks.

Lakers trade 20th pick and Deng to Minnesota for Rubio.

Lakers draft best available at 5

Lakers offer 15 and 28 (acquired from Houston) for George...(his trade value is low...otherwise would wait until free agency) and draft at 5. If George is a no...offer 28 for Melo straight up.

I forgot to mention that this is basically a salary dump to make up for the idiocy of signing Mozgov and Deng. Would consider sweetening the deal to 5 for George, if it's win now. But I think #5 could still be better than #1 (whoever falls there) . The Lakers could potentially turn the #2 into George, Melo, draft picks and cap space. Considering the real possibility of losing the #2 outright, I'd say do it now!

Won't even get #5 and #10 for #2.
Maybe #10 for mozgov and #2.
He gets 50 million the next 3 years. No teams want that if you don't overpay.

The first two trades actually make a lot of sense, but I would substitute Deng for Mozgov. The Kings already have a bunch of guys up front, but could use help on the wing. If they're going to bring on that salary, they might as well do it for a guy who might help a little.

I don't think that's going to get Rubio. They're willing to keep him if they don't get a deal they like. 5 and Deng would probably be too much for him, but 20 is not enough. 15 might be something they would go for.

That deal for George is a joke though, and someone will offer something better for Melo than 28. The deal you have in place for George might get Melo though. with a couple of pieces for salary.

All in all though, unless they think Ball is the man, they could think about doing some of this.

Portland would rather dump Turner and 26th pick for a late 2nd rounder and a rain tarp. Moving up from 15th to 10th doesn't get Portland a defensive PF or SF that they need.
