If the Lakers decide to keep LeBron and go all-in again next year.

Lakers get Malcolm Brogdon and Buddy Hield

Pacers get Russell Westbrook and an unprotected 2027 first

Lakers get a much better fit at point guard and a floor spacer for Bron and AD. Pacers get a $47 million expiring contract that they likely buy out so they can hand the keys to Haliburton, and a likely lottery pick. Win-now for LA, cap space and youth for Indy.

Indiana has zero reason to do this.

They can get a much better return by trading Brodgon and Hield separately.

Would be perfect for Lakers and make them contenders again depending on AD’s health.

I like it for Pacers if they use that cap on young players, there will be a lot of good RFA they can possibly pry away with a ton of cap space they would have if this deal goes through. This trade also makes them in the running for a top 5 pick next year.

Like it.

Carl, Hield hardly had any value at deadline which is why he was thrown is a just a salary filler in the Sabonis trade.

Brogdon can prolly fetch a decent player and mid 1st at most.

NBA16
If Brogdon can fetch a decent player and a mid 1st, it would be 10x better than takin on Wesbrook to just buy him out.

I think it’s bad for Indiana.

I mean Westbrook is a decent player lmao even if y’all want to hate on him, and that 2027 1st could be rly good.

NBA16 - could be really good. But by the time Indiana would get that pick, the GM and coach are likely to be gone.

Buying out or waiving Westbrook would be a steep price to pay to get a 1st round pick in 5 years.

I think Indiana would be willing to do this kind of trade. Ask Gasupo.

Buying out Westbrook is a lot less expensive than paying the remainder of Brogdon and Hield’s contracts. Hield doesn’t expire until 2024, Brogdon doesn’t expire until 2025. Only a few of you seem to understand that this makes a lot of financial sense for the Pacers.

Westbrook has $47 million left on his deal, whereas Brogdon and Hield have a combined $106.7 million left on theirs. You guys can do the math. Also, if Russ gets bought out, he won’t get the full $47 million: meaning even greater savings for the Pacers.

The Pacers can keep the players they have signed for next year. They have 2 or 3 decent draft picks for next year. That means they will have either 13 or 14 players signed for just under 100 million. That leaves them around $22 million to spend this summer to fill their 15 positions! This trade proposal is completely one sided!

Casual - The Pacers will get production from Brodgon and Hield, but get none from Westbrook. Just paying Westbrook to go away is a complete waist of $47 million dollars.

Like I have said, they can get better returns for Brodgon and Hield than Westbrook and a first round pick in 5 years.

If Beal stays in Washington, Brodgon would be a nice fit for them.
Heck, if the Lakers waive and stretch Wesbrook, they could trake THT for Heild.
