After get sweeped in the playoffs, would you sign your last contract or join of the best teams?

It will be a simple trade at draft day:

NewYork 2022 rookie and a 2nd
Dallas Joker, Reddish, sign Monk, Brunson
Denver Powell, Hardaway, 3x1st

It is Dallas time:

Joker/Kleber, DFS/Reddish, Bullock/Monk, Luca/Green, Brunson/Dinwiddie

No cap space to sign Monk and Brunson because using MLE will trigger hard cap.

Simply wrong. Sry. Powell, THJ and rookie 2022 Mavs send out 32M and get back Joker/ Reddish 39m. Mavs can send Bertans (17m) and a 2nd pick to shrink under the CAP or Mavs have the 11m TE to sign Monk (send 2nd to LA in a S&T) and bird rights on Brunson to sign him over the CAP. No trigger to keep Mavs out of it - only if Joker not wanno join - but he wants. So please prestudy Mavs roster of the future.

No team will take on Bertans for a 2nd round pick.

It’s just still not enough for Jokic. It’s just not.

So signing Monk into the LE is an S&T which will impose Hard cap. Dallas us current @ $153 mil in salaries next year with hardcap at $155 mil. Trading away Powell + THJ + RIGHTS to 2022 rookie is only $30 mil with Joker+Reddish being $39.6 mil. So Dallas increases salary buy 9.6 mil to $163. Now you believe Dallas can salary dump Bertans for a second rounder (yea, not happening), but I will subtract the $16 mil down to a total of $147 mil on the book. So Dallas has $8 mil to resign Brunson and sign Monk without using the Tax Payer MLE, or a S&T (into the Richardson TE) .

Bird Rights does not allow at team to go beyond the hard cap (it does allow to go beyond the soft cap) .

Soooooo. Good luck with all that!
