Wizards-Pacers

George for Porter (s&t), Oubre, Mahinmi, 2018 1st

Wall/Beal/George/Morris/Gortat starting five is tough.

Bpd0003

1.) 27 Jun 2017 08:40:44
That starting 5 is tough but I don't think Porter has another level to his game and wouldn't be nearly as effective in the larger role he'd be forced into in Indy, not to mention all the money he'd be making. Indy needs to ultimately take the best offer they get but I'd ideally want players with higher upside than Porter who is the key piece in this trade.

For Wizards its a gamble but I think they reached close to their peak last season where Beal stayed healthy and Porter shot lights out and they still couldn't reach conference finals so maybe its worth taking the chance since it could pay off big time and if not they clear some cap space in 2018 to try and replace George.

If Boston can convince George to sign an extension:

Boston
Trades: LA/Sac Pick, Tatum, Crowder
Receives: George

Sign Hayward, Gibson, Olynyk

Thomas/Smart
Hayward/Bradley
George/Brown
Gibson/Yabusele
Horford/Olynyk

Minnesota
Trades: Rubio
Recieves: Crowder

Sign: Lowry, Miles

Lowry/Jones
Wiggins/Miles
Butler/Crowder
Dieng/Bjelica
Townes/Patton

Indiana
Trades: George
Recieve: Tatum, Rubio, La/Sac Pick

Begin rebuild around Tatum with a great pick in either 2018 or 2019.

Descent.

2.) 24 Jun 2017 15:50:54
I don't get why everyone wants Boston to trade for George when his is 100000% a rental and is just looking ahead to next offseason and not focused on winning now with whatever team he is on. I would much rather have Tatum Crowder and the pick (s) we got from Philly than a rental player that doesn't even want to be there. I am one that loves youth and developing players and I strongly believe that one day Tatum will become a player on PG13's level also if you can get that while he is one a nice affordable deal why would you trade that away along with another player on a team friendly deal in Crowder and a potential top 5 pick for a guy that you have no shot at resigning. I mean if he promises to sign an extension I am all for this trade but we know that's not going to happen so I would much rather have the Celtics be quiet on the trade front this offseason and let guys like Zeller and Green go and free up enough money to get Heyward and have a lineup of IT Bradley Hayward Crowder and Horford with Smart Brown Taytum Olynyk Rozier and some other guys coming off the bench.

3.) 24 Jun 2017 16:57:12
CS13, I started the post by saying this only works if george agrees to an extension. Obviously the Celtics aren't making this trade if there is even the smallest chance of George leaving next offseason. George said he prefers LA, but I think he just wants to be on a contender and not in Indiana. He can get that in Boston. Reports are saying that if Hayward signs with Boston, George will agree to an extension so the Celtics could trade for him. That is absolutely the best case for Boston. Get Hayward and George in their primes and keep Brown and still have brooklyns pick next year to build through the draft.

4.) 24 Jun 2017 21:59:22
I guess I missed that part of the post. And I would need PG13 to put his promise in writing so that way if we do get Heyward and give up the young assists for him that we will get him for multiple years. I feel like people are saying that George is better than Tatum and Crowder and that's what it would take to get him, and I agree but after this season if we make this trade we will probably not have George and we won't have Tatum and Crowder either so I don't think George is worth it. I think we should wait till he is a FA and then make a push for him to see if he really wants to come here.

Minnesota rest of offseason:

Jones, Aldrich for Millsap(s&t)

Sign Patty Mills,Thabo Sefolosha, CJ Miles

Rubio/Mills
Wiggins/Miles
Butler/Sefolosha
Millsap/Dieng
Townes/Patton

Perfect blend of veterans and young talent. Finish second in the west.

That team would be very good defensively possibly dominant if Wiggins and Towns play closer to their ability on that end (both have physical tools to be dominant on that end but have focused more on offensive end so maybe adding two veterans who can score the ball will improve their effort on opposite end) .

My only concern is that on the offensive end the 3pt shooting is lacking which may hurt spacing, make baskets tough to get at times and really hurt them against Golden State and Cleveland since they won't be able to score as much as they do (Towns is the only one above average from behind the arc).

Mills and Miles help with this off the bench but Twolves may want to consider moving Rubio and signing a guy like Hill or Holiday who are both good defenders still but much better 3pt shooters than Rubio (this may complicate the Millsap signing and both guys have injury concerns) .

Knicks asking for #3, 2018 Brooklyn pick, Crowder, Brown for Porzingis

Bpd0003

1.) 22 Jun 2017 20:55:47
Still wouldn't trade porzingus for this.

2.) 22 Jun 2017 21:57:53
That's ok, Boston won't trade that for Porzingis.

Mega Deal
Bos-Nyk-Min-Chi

Celtics
Trades: #3, La/Sac pick, Bos 2018 pick, Crowder
Receives: Porzingis
Sign Hayward

Knicks
Trades: Porzingis, Melo
Receives: #3, La/Sac pick, Lavine, Rondo

Two great picks and young star in Lavine

Timberwolves
Trades: #7, Lavine
Receives: Butler

Get superstar to pair with Wiggins/Townes

Bulls
Trades: Butler, Rondo
Receives: #7, Bos 2018, Melo, Crowder

Get great pick and Melo and Crowder to start with Wade. Try to sign Chris Paul or Paul Millsap

1.) 22 Jun 2017 07:36:16
Boston is trading too much, the Bulls aren't giving enough, Knicks are getting too much, and the Wolves aren't giving enough. Plus these kinds of trades don't happen.

2.) 22 Jun 2017 15:25:25
Unlikely, but not a bad trade. I really like it from Chicago's perspective, they get valuable draft picks and a Melo/ Wade duo that could be used to attract CP3 this summer and possibly LBJ next summer. Use those picks to get a big man and suddenly the Bulls have a super team.

The Cavs came out of the trade deadline the biggest winners. Boogie Cousins stayed in the west, the Celtics didn't make any moves to push them over the top. And Bogut and Deron Williams are likely to hit the buy out market and both of them fill needs for the Cavs.

Irving/Williams
Smith/Shumpert/Korver
James/Jefferson
Love/Frye
Thompson/Bogut

Bpd0003

1.) 24 Feb 2017 03:09:03
Raptors look like a threat though, and Boston is a tiny threat. And who knows about the Wizards.

2.) 24 Feb 2017 05:32:51
Wouldn't consider them winners. Cavs ultimate goal is to win a championship and they made no steps to improve their chances of doing so. Yes it helps the Cavs that Boston didn't make a big move to get a superstar but Raptors made two solid moves that will make them formidable. Cavs have looked quite mortal lately and didn't make any of the moves that they need to to even out their lineup and not have to play Lebron so much leading up to playoffs.

Lucky for them there are a fair number of veteran guys who are candidates for buy outs and they may be able to get help there although not sure if that will even be enough. Its a bit risky too since no guarantee certain guys get bought out and once they do the Cavs won't be the only team going for them. Someone like Bogut may opt to go to Boston instead and maybe Williams wants to return to the Jazz.

Cavaliers Starting Lineup

Kyrie Irving/ Deron Williams
J. R. Smith/ Kyle Krovor
LeBron James/ Rich Jefferson
Kevin Love/ Channing Fyre
Andrew Night/ Tristan Thompson.

4.) 25 Feb 2017 04:47:02
Bogut is signing with the warriors because of a CBA loophole.

Why does philly do this?

2.) 03 Feb 2017 20:21:04
Johnson and young have zero trade value. don't think philly is giving up noel and okafor for a guard who can't shoot. Sixers say No .

OldskoolMagic, in Lebron's defense, he has played against much better teams in the finals than Jordan had to so he needs other stars around him. Also, to say Scottie Pippen isn't a star is just wrong. He is a top 30 player all time.
