Bulls could be ready to take contracts for picks

Lakers-Bulls

Lakers get highly protected 2nd rd pick

Bulls get Luol Deng, future 1st rd pick (top 3 protected) & 2nd rd pick

Lakers save more money for next year

espn33

Earliest 1st rounder Lakers can offer 2020, I don't think that would satisfy Bulls. But I agree that they should start taking bad contracts for picks.
Several players comes to mind and some nice picks could be obtained: Reggie Jackson, Jon Leuer, Ryan Anderson, Luol Deng, Chandler Parsons, Tyler Johnson (terrible poison pill contract IMO), Mirza Teletovic, John Henson, Solomon Hill, Omer Asik, Joakim Noah, Enes Kanter, Bismack Biyombo, Tyson Chandler, Evan Turner, Meyers Leonard, Ian Mahinmi.
They could absorb 3-4 of those contracts and acquire future assets.

Cavs-Jazz-Pacers

Cavs get Turner, Young

Jazz get Love

Pacers get Nets pick, Favors, Burks , Jazz 1st

espn33

1.) 20 Sep 2017 16:04:39
I think it would be a great move for the Cavs. Love is solid, but he's not getting any younger, and Turner is currently cheaper. Thad also gives you solid production. The Pacers, if they were ever thinking of moving Turner, get a fantastic return. I don't think the Jazz do this though. As I said, I like Love, but he's not the type of player you're looking for if you're in their situation. He isn't enough to put them over the top, and he's not young enough to start rebuilding around with a blowup.

2.) 20 Sep 2017 19:12:11
I think it would be decent for Utah. They need to replace Haywards scoring, Love would be a great fit next to Gobert, and it's not like they're giving up anything all that valuable to them. If they had Love, they'd be garaunteed a playoff spot ( I'd argue Love is better than Hayward) so the pick would be fairly late Favors isn't a good fit next to Gobert. He will be a really expensive back up soon. Burks is decent, but he's always injured and their rotation has fine without him. For the price, I don't see age being a big deal. It's not perfect, but they aren't mortaring their future on Love.

I'm not sure about it for the Cavs on one side, I love Turner. The guy is going to be really good sooner rather than later, but I think for the next year or two Love is still the better option. He can still be an elite scorer and rebounder and has turned into a pretty solid defender (he actually was the best Cavs defender according to real d plus minus for what it's worth) . According to Lou they're going to feature him more on the post. They did that last year in the first quarter of games at times and he looked like Minnesota Love and if the Cavs are starting a rebuild next year he could be worth some decent young players or picks. I also don't like the thought of starting a rebuild and immediately having to give up a max contract to a guy. Starting a rebuild with a top 5 pick is a little riskier, but it keeps cap space open to take on bad contracts and etc. I think the Cavs threaded the needle with the Irving trade. I think this trade does that to an extent, but it seems like this makes them a little worse this year and makes it a little harder to rebuild next year. I also think they could get Young for a protected first, some expirings, and maybe a something else small if they really wanted him.

3.) 20 Sep 2017 23:03:11
I would do that trade.
I really like Turner, but i think we should go for a total rebuilt.

I still can't believe we trade PG13 for Oladipo.

4.) 20 Sep 2017 23:34:33
i don't dislike this trade.
Maybe if we could trade Favors for antother draft pick.

New Orleans-Indiana

New Orleans get : T.Young

Indiana get : A.Ajinca, E.Moore top 12 protected 1st rd pick

this gives Pelicans a solid back up for Boogie and AD while the Pacers gain a 1st and gives more playing time to their young bigs

Pelicans
sign G.Green to vet min

Rondo-Clark-Jackson
Holiday-Crawford
Allen-Hill-Green
Davis-Young-Diallo
Cousins-Asik

espn33

1.) 19 Sep 2017 04:46:02
Starting Allen and Rondo around Cousins and AD would
cause a ton of problems for the Pelicans offense. Teams could sag into the paint and bring the double off either guy if one of the two bigs gets the ball in the paint. Cousins and Davis wouldn't have much room to work at all. I think Moore's high level shooting is much more useful for the Pelicans than having a better back up pf.

Wow. I actually agree with RKenne.

If the Irving-Thomas deal gets voided, the Celtics are screwed. Thomas almost guaranteed will leave.

espn33

1.) 26 Aug 2017 14:07:38
Apparently the Cavs have came back and said they want an extra piece since IT's hip is worse than they thought. All of a sudden the Celtics are negotiating from probably a worse place since other teams will be leery of taking on IT.

2.) 26 Aug 2017 14:29:36
The deal was kind of lopsided in favor of Cleveland because, not in spite of, Thomas's hip.
The Cavs have no intention of keeping Thomas beyond this year, and the big piece was the Brooklyn pick. If the deal is off, Ainge will just walk away rather than sweeten the pot any more than a second-round pick. Most Boston would do is perhaps swap Memphis or Clippers No. 1 for Cleveland's.

3.) 26 Aug 2017 14:41:26
I could see Boston throwing in one of their own picks or a pick swap for one their decent future picks like you said Collider. I think Ainge probably appeases the Cavs. It puts the Celtics in a bad situation if Thomas come back and something like their own pick doesn't have a ton of value to them, give the amount of you talent they already have.

4.) 26 Aug 2017 14:50:27

Spurs should sign Monta Ellis. They need scoring help off the bench.

espn33

1.) 06 Jul 2017 14:25:38
That isn't a bad move at all considering there are rumors that they are looking to move Green for someone like Okafor.

2.) 06 Jul 2017 17:10:39
Ellis would be a solid pickup for them but Green for Okafor sounds awful. Spurs shouldn't move Green any longer (I though the entire idea was to clear cap space to go after Paul or someone) with all major FA gone and certainly shouldn't give up a quality 3 and D starter for only Okafor.

3.) 08 Jul 2017 05:40:27
Ellis makes C. Anthony look like a great team winner and selective shooter. and culturally he would last 8 seconds with Pops.

Why would the Cavs do that, they will end up having too much PG and no center.
