Mavs: Smart. Schroder, Horford and the 2023 first
Celtics: Porzingis, Brunson, DFS

If the Mavs believe they might lose Brunson and DFS in the offseason, trading them now makes a lot of sense. They would remain competitive with the incoming player and could actually be even better. In addition, they would gain flexibility moving forward, since Smart is signed at a decent amount for a starting caliber player and Horford is basically expiring.

As for the Celtics, they get a more natural point guard in Brunson - at the risk of losing him in the offseason as well - and 2 very good players in Porzigis and DFS. A Brunson/ Brown/ Tatum/ Porzingis/ Williams lineup has a higher ceiling than the current one.

The money works due to the Richardson TPE that the Mavs have, but if they have to send out more money Boston’s way, fine. As long as it’s not THJ and his big contract, the Celtics can probably stomach a Reggie Bullock or Trey Burke with one of their own TPEs.

Mavs laugh.

2.) 30 Jan 2022 01:50:46
I don't think Boston does it. They have to pay Kristaps over 30 mil next year and probably the year after that. Brunson is due a raise and will be asking for more than what Smart makes, who is probably a better player. This all means they won't have the money to retain Smith, plus they have to give up a 1st? Also, I personally do not see Kristaps fitting in with their team and I don't think anybody wants him on that contract.

3.) 30 Jan 2022 02:56:18
Yeah. Kinda an easy no from Mavs.

Lakers: Al Horford, Josh Richardson, Dennis Schroder and Enes Freedom

Celtics: Russell Westbrook, Malik Monk, DeAndre Jordan.

1.) 29 Jan 2022 12:25:14
Boston has no interest in Westbrook, just like most teams.

2.) 29 Jan 2022 13:49:51
Boston must shake things up. Westbrook would do just that. What’s the worst it can happen? Bringing him (or John Wall) would marginally reduce an already minimal cap flexibility in 2022-2023. The current team is headed nowhere fast. The proposed trade is not ideal, obviously, but it could work. The Lakers could throw in the 2027 1st round draft pick and keep Monk if the like him that much. But assuming the Celtics get some form of compensation- either Monk or the pick - I think they should try something like this.

3.) 29 Jan 2022 13:52:48
seriously doubt that the Lakers are bringing Schroeder back to LA.

4.) 29 Jan 2022 14:34:43
You don't just shake things up for the sake of shaking things up. You make moves that make sense and this one doesn't. They are building the team around the Jays and want to keep them happy. The idea of bringing in Westbrook is ludicrous.

5.) 29 Jan 2022 16:16:40
the celtics are who they are. langford, bane, nesmith, marcus smart at the point. you make bad decisions after bad decisions you don't even have a margin of error. you are just one big error.

6.) 29 Jan 2022 16:18:08
come to think about it wall and westbrook are arguably the two worst contracts in the nba. wouldn't surprise me at all if the celtics traded for them.

7.) 29 Jan 2022 16:48:58
I think Boston is trying to stay away from a Kyrie Irving type mistake again.

8.) 29 Jan 2022 17:36:23
The Celtics should get that 2027 Lakers pick an do this.

26 Jan 2022 17:17:55
Pacers: Josh Richardson, Romeo Langford, Enes Freedom (salary filler/ cut), Bruno Fernando (salary filler/ cut), 2023 1st rd dp (top-10 protected), 2 future 2nd rd dp

Celtics: Caris Levert, Torey Craig.

1.) 26 Jan 2022 17:47:25
I take this forLeVert.

2.) 26 Jan 2022 22:10:16
@ Gasupo

And Craig?

23 Jan 2022 18:54:03
Hawks: Marcus Smart, Dennis Schroder

Celtics: DeAndre Hunter, Sharife Cooper.

1.) 23 Jan 2022 19:11:56
If Smart were to be traded to Atlanta, I think it'd be for one of their shooters.

2.) 23 Jan 2022 20:07:13
Don’t like for Hawks.

3.) 24 Jan 2022 01:00:46
Hawks traded Reddish for basically nothing so they could resign Hunter.

4.) 24 Jan 2022 12:35:42
Terrible trade for Hawks.

23 Jan 2022 13:15:44
Nets: Schroder, Richardson, Freedom

Celtics: Millsap, Claxton, Harris.

1.) 23 Jan 2022 14:01:54
Not sure about Brooklyn but I like it for Boston.

Pool: why do Lakers fans believe that the average yet overpaid THT is as valuable as NBA stars?

1.) 16 Jan 2022 05:34:54
Because Lakers fans are dreamers. But not everyone :)

2.) 16 Jan 2022 11:20:44
Because they think THT is better than Caruso and Caruso got the same amount from Chicago as THT got from the Lakers. So in their minds, THT is "plus" talent and "plus" contract.

But it still doesn't make him worth any All-Star talent like Beal or Brown. He is still a stretch for near All-Star talent like King's Fox or Spur's Murray.

3.) 16 Jan 2022 23:30:32
Laker fans have been doing this with any young player that shows anything whatsoever for a long time. It just is what it is.

15 Dec 2021 12:50:51
Can the Celtics get Van Fleet without sending Brown or Tatum to the Raptors? What would be the cost?

1.) 15 Dec 2021 13:39:19
Good player, and Boston could send proper value, but I don't see a trade there that benefits both teams.

2.) 15 Dec 2021 14:16:11
Not much that would interest masai tbh. Williams would have to be included for sure, and Boston would need more bigs.

3.) 15 Dec 2021 15:58:32
Toronto loves FVV and it would take a lot to pry him away, especially because the Raptors are so weak in point guard depth. Flynn hasn't shown enough in practice to earn floor time, and Banton has shown flashes but realistically he's a mid second round pick with lots of development to come before he's a reliable rotation guy. Schroeder coming back would be great if he were backing up Freddie, but replacing him is a whole other story.

20 Jul 2019 00:09:28
Celtics and Raptors trade
Tatum for Siakam
Straight up
Helps both teams.

1.) 20 Jul 2019 06:39:35
With the way siakam play last year specially in the playoffs i don't know if Raptors ate going to trade him.

08 Feb 2017 21:06:14
Avery Bradley for Andrew Wiggins straight up.

20 Oct 2016 01:46:06
Sixers: Nets 2018 pick, fillers (any combination of James Young, RJ Hunter, Jonas Jerebko, Ben Bentil. or even all of them, should Philly want it)

Celtics: Okafor.

1.) 20 Oct 2016 16:42:40
I personally don't even think that starts the conversation on Okafor from a Philly standpoint. Might start conversations about Noel but not Okafor.

2.) 21 Oct 2016 17:33:40
Boston has made it clear it wants a top-15 player for either of the Nets picks. Okafor is barely top 15 in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.

Durant would probably retire if that were to happen.

Why would the Celtics help the Raptors while hurting themselves?

I would pay that much for a player who can’t take care of his body like a pro should.
