Reports of Hawks wanting Murray. A few options:

Murray for Collins, #16, '23 Cha 1st, 2025 Hawks 1st

Murray/Poeltl for Collins, Okongwu, Gallo, #16, '23 Cha 1st

15 Jun 2022 22:52:35

Hawks get Gobert, Oubre

Jazz get Hunter, Gallinari, #13, #16, '23 Charlotte 1st (via ATL)

Hornets get Capela

13 Jun 2022 22:28:13

Collins, Bogdanovic, #16 for Barnes, #4

1.) 13 Jun 2022 22:39:55
I think Kings would prefer Huerter

Can say Collins + 16 might get 4
Barnes >>> Bogi.

2.) 13 Jun 2022 23:05:09
No way, no way is Collins worth the 4th pick. And you want Sacramento to add Barnes in the deal, who probably has more trade value than anyone on Atlanta's roster outside of Young and Capella.

To get the no 4 pick and Barnes, Atlanta would have to include Collins (who probably has neutral trade value), Huerter, Hunter, pick 16, and at least 1 future 1st round pick.

3.) 14 Jun 2022 00:21:06
Collins + 16 should be able to get 4 + Holmes.

4.) 14 Jun 2022 01:38:55
Carl, I think you undervalue Collins and overreact at lot on his contract. He definitely has more value than Barnes. Collins was 48th in avg salary this year and outside of the top 50 next year. That seems about right for him. Not to mention he’s still a 24 year old well capable of being a 3rd option with a career 17 and 8 on 56/ 37.

I think Collins/ Huerter can easily get 5-7 range. Collins can prolly get 9 alone) . Barnes value is prolly equal to a late lottery/ mid teens 1st (16). Kings could prolly use a future 1st or Johnson tho, Hunter is too much imo (Hunter is basically a young Barnes)

5.) 14 Jun 2022 01:58:23
The issue is the salaries. Holmes+Harkless+cap space might get to Collins salary. Adding Huerter is going to have to include Barnes.

6.) 14 Jun 2022 10:17:14
Only player worth trading Collins for would be Jabari Smith. He is going 1st. Hawks are in win now mode. The dead weight is Bogdanovic, Gallinari, Huerter, Capela. The hawks GM has already said Collins is not being traded. A 25 yr old PF 2way player that shoots 40% from 3pt getting 23 million? Who would trade that?

07 Feb 2022 20:54:15

Hawks get McCollum, Nance

Get a secondary creator to play next to Trae and to play some PG while Trae is out to keep the offense running. Get another athletic defensive big to backup Collins.

Jazz get Bogdanovic

Get another shooter to take Ingles spot for a 1st.

Blazers get Gallinari, Jalen Johnson, Ingles, Azubuike, Utah '22 1st, OKC '22 1st (Will convert to 2 seconds) via ATL

Blazers get a high upside rookie athlete in Johnson plus some picks and expirings (Ingles and Gallo only guaranteed $5M next season). Trade Dame for another package of picks and young players to kick start the rebuild.

1.) 08 Feb 2022 01:06:45
If Utah actually owned their 22 first. See Memphis.

2.) 08 Feb 2022 01:07:42
Utah doesn’t have its 22 1st.

3.) 08 Feb 2022 03:36:57
My bad. Meant ‘23 1st.

4.) 08 Feb 2022 10:43:11
As a hawks fan I'm all for trading galinari and Bogdanovic hell they should have never been signed but not for CJ McCollum. He is cool but the injury issues is a red flag.

26 Jan 2022 21:47:16

Hawks get Simmons, Olynyk, Joe

Sixers get Grant, Bogi, Gallo, Cooper, '22 Hornets 1st

Pistons get Harris, '22 OKC 1st (will be 2 seconds), '22 And '24 Hawks 1sts

Hawks get Simmons while keeping Collins.

Sixers get off Harris and Simmons while adding another scoring defender in Grant. Free up cap space for off-season.

Pistons get 2 firsts and 2 seconds for Grant and to take Harris' contract.

1.) 26 Jan 2022 23:22:32
starting to think that there may be some fire to the Harden S&T for Simmons next offseason.

2.) 27 Jan 2022 03:08:45
I think there's a lot more backchannel communication between agents and execs than we realize. i think morey has a secret network of spies in every organization and every agency. i don't like the guy, but have a grudging respect for what he's been able to pull off in past deals. never underestimate him.

Done Deal:

Kyrie to Boston for Thomas, Crowder, Zizic, 2018 Brk 1st

Good deal for both sides I think. Celtics get younger point guard to pair with young talent they already have and they avoid dealing with Thomas free agency next summer.

Cavs get a scorer in thomas, a really good defender in crowder to help against Warriors, a center to back up Thompson, and probably a top 5 pick in next years draft.

1.) 23 Aug 2017 07:29:48
Cavs come away laughing.

2.) 23 Aug 2017 16:55:44
This was a terrible deal for the Celtics. So the Celtics traded IT3 for a slightly taller, less team oriented IT3. Mind you, Irving is an iso player, much like the all hated Melo. But it wasnt just a straight trade. No. The Celtics gave up a very good 3 and D in crowder, a nice prospect in Zizic, and the brooklyn pick?

For all the credit ainge gets (some deserved, some not), i think he bombed hard on this. Kudos to the new cavs GM for fleecing Ainge like this.

3.) 24 Aug 2017 15:43:28
I really like this for Cleveland.
Not sure about Boston.

23 Feb 2017 20:39:41
The Cavs came out of the trade deadline the biggest winners. Boogie Cousins stayed in the west, the Celtics didn't make any moves to push them over the top. And Bogut and Deron Williams are likely to hit the buy out market and both of them fill needs for the Cavs.

1.) 24 Feb 2017 03:09:03
Raptors look like a threat though, and Boston is a tiny threat. And who knows about the Wizards.

2.) 24 Feb 2017 05:32:51
Wouldn't consider them winners. Cavs ultimate goal is to win a championship and they made no steps to improve their chances of doing so. Yes it helps the Cavs that Boston didn't make a big move to get a superstar but Raptors made two solid moves that will make them formidable. Cavs have looked quite mortal lately and didn't make any of the moves that they need to to even out their lineup and not have to play Lebron so much leading up to playoffs.

Lucky for them there are a fair number of veteran guys who are candidates for buy outs and they may be able to get help there although not sure if that will even be enough. Its a bit risky too since no guarantee certain guys get bought out and once they do the Cavs won't be the only team going for them. Someone like Bogut may opt to go to Boston instead and maybe Williams wants to return to the Jazz.

3.) 24 Feb 2017 11:33:53
Cavaliers Starting Lineup

Kyrie Irving/ Deron Williams
J. R. Smith/ Kyle Krovor
LeBron James/ Rich Jefferson
Kevin Love/ Channing Fyre
Andrew Night/ Tristan Thompson.

4.) 25 Feb 2017 04:47:02
Bogut is signing with the warriors because of a CBA loophole.

03 Feb 2017 17:06:50

Celtics get Butler, Noel

Sixers get Johnson, Smart, Young

Bulls get Okafor, Crowder, 2017 Brk first

1.) 03 Feb 2017 19:19:10
Why does philly do this?

2.) 03 Feb 2017 20:21:04
Johnson and young have zero trade value. don't think philly is giving up noel and okafor for a guard who can't shoot. Sixers say No .

3.) 03 Feb 2017 20:21:04

I agree the Hawks got robbed but the pick will likely convey at some point. It’s too 16 in ‘23 and lottery protected in ‘24 and ‘25. So as long as the Hornets make the playoffs in ‘24 or ‘25 the pick will convey. With LaMelo it seems likely they make the playoffs.

The Hawks have the cap space to sign Hayward of he opts out of Boston. No need to fall 8 spots in the draft to get a guy that you can just sign.

I find the Hawks sign and trade Hayward chatter interesting. They have the money to sign him outright in free agency so not really sure why they would give up players or picks for him.

In your scenario, I would just keep 6 and hope Okongwu is still on the board. I just don’t think wiseman is worth giving up Hunter or Reddish to get.

Ritequick - As a Hawks fan I definitely like the idea. I don’t really see it being a 6th man role though. He would be the starting center next to collins. The fourth year that they are talking about is what scares me. Don’t want to commit that kind of money long term and be stuck with a bad contract in 4 years when Trae, Collins, Huerter, and this year’s picks are in their primes.
