Easy route is to trade hardaway lee thomas seperately for expiring contract and sign butler next yr and keep pick.

Definitely not enough for Butler. I can't see a deal that they land Butler that doesn't include Knox.

Knox or porzingis gets butler. Sign butler with cap space next summer, tank and get a lottery pick, waive lee and noah, trade ntilikina and hardaway unless they have breakout seasons this year or show huge leaps in development. Butler is going to cost NY too much to acquire right now. With butler their pick has less value and chance of being a really good pick so hardaway, lee, kanter, noah are just NY boat anchors in a deal. Thomas is ok he can stay or go.

It's so weird that Knicks fans still say "just sign him" when it comes to all star free agents. Who's the last person the Knicks got? Stat? That was forever ago, and he was damaged goods at that point.

I wouldn't rely on signing anyone if I'm the Knicks. They have to trade for an all star if they want one, then hope to resign them.

Salaries are off by too much? No the stupidity of this trade is off by too much! Wow people think a little before ya post a dumb trade just think if you were the other team getting completely robbed of a allstar.
