Not bad trade.

2.) 24 Jun 2017 15:54:39
Not bad in terms of value and balance, but there is no way in hell Phonix does this trade. They drafted Jackson 4th overall, they got Chriss last year in the top 10. Plus I know you have Porzinus and Niliokina In there but if they were to get traded in my opinion it would have happened in draft night.

Just because you say it's "supposed to go down", doesn't mean that will. Portland won't give you 15 for that package, not to mention, they can't take back more players than they give out. So next time you try to make it seem like you have inside knowledge, get your facts straight.

2.) 21 Jun 2017 00:03:15
Draft day scoop someone will owe someone an apology. Hopefully its me Lee is best player that trade.

3.) 21 Jun 2017 01:24:26
Portland will keep #15. Portland will use #20 and #26 either in combo trade or salary dumps. If pure salary dumps (Turner and Leonard) they will only take back future picks. If quasi-salary-dump (Crabbe - he has upside and solid value - he is just overpaid) they would want some value back, and not the three modicom players you mention. Harkless doesn't represent a salary dump whatsover, but they may trade him. but with relative fair value in return.

4.) 21 Jun 2017 01:50:12
Let's clean this trade up a bit.

To POR - Lee, O'Quinn, Thomas, 2017 2nd (via Rockets)

To NYK - Harkless, Napier, Turner, #20

Players are even, and Blazers keep pick #15.

If Portland actually wants to win, they need to shore up defense at the 3 and 4 position. They have plenty of scoring. Anthony is a great scorer, but holds the ball, stands around, and plays no real defense. He has zero track record of winning drive and culture and is not on the same career trajectory as the Blazer's core. And he would hate Portland and become an instant cancer. ie- Blazers have zero interest in C. Anthony.

2.) 19 Jun 2017 06:34:30
As Gobblyguber said Melo is an awful fit for Portland. This trade is also awful for Portland from a financial perspective who currently are projected to be in luxury the next 3 years. This trade doesn't really help them in this area which is probably their primary concern given their relatively young core and Nurkic going into final year of his contract.

1.) 14 Jun 2017 08:34:54
There is this thing called a salary cap. Celtics could hardly afford getting Jordan and Butler in a trade let alone sign Griffin to his 25+ mill per year max contract afterward when they have no cap space.

Other than that I think the trade works out nicely for all the teams involved. As far as other moves Lebron is under contract next season so he can't sign with Clippers for cheap (doubt he would anyway) . As much as he may want to play with his "friends" that team would be worse than current Cavs with even worse depth so I don't see Lebron sacrificing a chance at more rings and his legacy to play with his buddies.

Also, zero chance Fox lasts until #8 pick. He could go as high as #2 and I don't see a scenario where he makes it past Kings at #5.

2.) 14 Jun 2017 17:01:53
I'm all about that if you're getting Griffin at the vet minimum, but the money just doesn't work. There's also not much point in bringing in Griffin AND Jordan since you're then putting a maxed out Horford on the bench. That's just silly. If you were to make this trade (and there were no financials involved) you'd sign Hayward not Griffin. Then you have the IT/ Butler/ Hayward/ Horford/ Jordan lineup.

Still, either way it's not possible.

If I'm Minnesota I'd want more for Rubio. I know they've been trying to trade him basically since they drafted him but he played very well to close last season and Dunn didn't look close to being ready to start for a Minnesota team that with Rubio should make playoffs next year.

Not a fan of value for 76ers either. Getting Melo would be an interesting move but don't think he has much value and I'd need more for moving down from #3 to #6 which although I think makes sense for 76ers there is a decent drop in talent pool that they should be more compensated for.

Knicks are clear winners of this trade. They somehow get rid of Noah and Melo's contract and nab a starting caliber pg in Rubio and some solid role players. Biyombo doesn't hurt as much as Noah since he is young and could be a solid contributor.

I think it makes a ton of sense for Magic to move up. This is a fairly cheap price to move up basically just taking Noah's contract and losing Biyombo. Don't think Noah's contract hurts this team much as they aren't a big FA player but #3 pick gives them opportunity to potentially add franchise changing talent which they certainly could use.

Rockets get Melo Wade Canaan Ndour
Bulls get Gordon Lou-Will
Knicks get Beverly Ariza

No matter how many quality role players houston have, Harden could not carry the Rockets with that type of support.

Harden/Canaan/Taylor
Wade/Hart-43/Iwundu-45
Melo/Dekker/Wiltjer

Capela/Nene/Onuaku

Bulls get great return for an aging SG.

Danton wants no part of coaching Melo again and Williams and Gordon are probably about as good as Wade at this point.
The 2nd trade is terrible for Brooklyn. Something like the 8 Noah and Oquinn for Lopez seems more reasonable.

2.) 29 May 2017 22:39:02
The rockets become worse because harden wade melo and anderson get torched on defense.

3.) 30 May 2017 11:55:57
I agree Houston could probably use another high caliber player along Harden but don't think Melo or Wade are the solutions and giving up those key role players for them makes Houston an even worse team. I think a good, more complete offensive big man would be the ideal pairing with Harden.

I like the idea of Nets getting the 8th pick and since they are so bad with such a poor future outlook although the value of the trade probably isn't in their favor I'd probably still do it since the #8 is involved and Lin and Lopez aren't taking Nets anywhere.

For Knicks first trade is a steal and second one is solid. I believe they would still have cap space to make some moves in FA.

Knicks want FRANK NTILIKINA or MALIK MONK and should not trade down.

Lakers get Noah Ellington
McRoberts Clear 16 mil in payroll, LA add another defensive big

Knicks get Deng Bosh-
collects ins. money if he doesn't retire which better than paying Noah

Heat get Mosgov Thomas NY 2nd LA 2018 2nd
No center behind Whiteside

Rondo/Ntilikina-8th/K.Simmons-58th

Deng/Kuzminkas/Early
Melo/O'Quinn/Bosh
Porzingis/Hernangomez/Plumlee

1.) 24 May 2017 01:08:08
Knicks and Heat both turn that down. The Knicks can't medically waive Bosh and add a ton of salary just for Deng and the Heat can probably medically waive Bosh and he would come off the cap.

1.) 12 Apr 2017 04:54:51
It would be fun to see Melo in a Pistons uniform and think about what could have been if they drafted him instead of Millic. That was back when Pistons were good with Rip, Chauncey, Wallaces and Prince. Would have likely changed Melo's career completely and minimally he'd probably have a ring by now.

However, due to his no trade clause Melo is much more likely to go to ATL than Detroit. I think he'd be an interesting piece in ATL with Millsap and Howard 3 veteran guys looking for rings and Schroeder as a youngish pg to round out a solid core.

I think Knicks would be ecstatic to Harris back in return for Melo since not only addition by subtraction but they add a young versatile forward who could pickup some of the scoring you lose with Melo. Not sure how keen Detroit would be to participate in this trade however. Harris to Bazemore seems like a lateral move to me so I think they'd need a little more compensation to convince them to shake up the chemistry bringing in a new guy.

2.) 12 Apr 2017 15:01:57
Can't imagine why Hawks would give up a decent player like Bazemore and get an overpaid ISO player in Anthony -- plus be saddled with his ridiculous contract AND trade kicker.
